Tri-City Speedway & The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series bring big names out this Friday night!

Pontoon Beach, IL (July 17, 2008) Tri-City Speedway will proudly host the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series this Friday, July 18th. Some of the biggest names in dirt late model racing from all throughout the U.S. will be on hand for this event that will be filmed before the cameras of SPEED Channel. The event will see a complete show for the LOLMDS with PRC Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains and the 50 lap $10,000 to win/$700 to start "Budweiser 50." It will be the fourth appearance by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at the facility, which was re-configured last year to a 3/8ths mile track. Some of the drivers expected include Scott Bloomquist, Earl Pearson, Jr., Billy Moyer, Brian Birkhofer, Terry Casey, Freddy Smith, John Mason, Wayne Chinn, Billy Drake, Bart Hartman, Scott James, Kevin Claycomb, Justin Ratliff, Dan Schlieper, Randy Korte, Bryan Collins, Michael England and many more!

On top of that, with the NASCAR Nationwide Series competing this weekend just down the road at Gateway Int'l Raceway, several NASCAR stars will also be on hand to compete in UMP Modifieds. Some of the names expected to be on hand include Ken Schrader, Kenny Wallace, Mike Wallace, Stephen Wallace, David Stremme, Landon Cassill, Chase Miller, Josh Wise and Jason Leffler. The NASCAR drivers won't arrive until after 9:30pm, once they complete their test session at Gateway Int'l Raceway. They will compete after the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series feature event!

UMP Modifieds will also be racing for $1,000 to win along with the UMP Pro Late Models which will be racing for $750 to win.

Pit gates will open at 2pm and the grandstand gate will open at 4pm. Hotlaps will begin at 6:15pm and late model qualifying will start at 7pm.

Tri-City Speedway is located in Pontoon Beach, Illinois. The track is located across the Mississippi River from St. Louis, MO. Take exit 4 off of I-270 and then go a 1/2 mile south on SR 203.
