After a great weekend of racing last week with just two classes of car, why would you have five classes of cars?

I have spent my last dime at the track when you have five classes of cars! I love the track and have NO ties to any race teams JUST A PAYING FAN that comes through the front gate!

Kevin and Tammy you have to start taking care of the fans that come just to watch the races and keep them late is not working!

We left the track at 12am and misses 5 races.

Hate to hear that. Last night was the first time for me to go to Tri City. Was there with a car and yes we got out late but very much enjoyed the show. Maybe an earlier start time. Plus having to get through the pit gate took a while due to car count. Still enjoyed it very much and wish we lived closer, would like to make that our home track.

With all of those classes you definitely get your moneys worth. The way I see it, you can get up and leave whenever you want. When you feel as if you have gotten your moneys worth, and you are ready to go, go.
I for one, cannot wait to go back on the first night of 2011. We had that #10 street stock hooked up and running very well, and I believe we were definitely a threat to win. We will back to get the one that got away! LOL
pw, didnt we have enough fun to make it worth the drive? TCS may become the #10's new home!

I totally agree, mmlx212. Last Saturday, they advertised a 7:00pm start, and I was home before 11:00pm, and stayed for the entire program ..... it was fantastic. Last night, Tri-City advertised a 6:00pm start, I left the track at 12:41am, and there were still two races left on the card. Unacceptable. My 9-year-old son, who loves going to the races, slept on my lap for 2 1/2 features, before we decided to pack it in and head home. I watched as countless groups of fans, many with children, left way before we did.

I suppose running 5 classes of cars for a year-end special sells lots of extra $35 pit passes, but in the long run, what are you gaining? How do promoters expect to attract new fans or children to the track on a regular basis, when they are expected to sit on a wooden slab for 7 hours? What other sport or form of entertainment drags on this long? ......... none that I can think of. I have no incentive to invite a friend or family that is new to the sport to a race program this lengthy ........... no way a "casual" fan would ever go back again.

Not whining or crying, just trying to get promoters to realize that dirt track racing, the best sport in America, is slowly dying, and this is one of the main reasons why. Look around, there are fewer dirt tracks every year, and more and more competition in the marketplace for the consumer's entertainment dollar. It shouldn't be hard to figure out that a 7-hour race program would be less appealing to many families than an 1 1/2 hour movie, a 3-hour baseball or football game, etc.

Like I said, not bashing, whining, or crying .......... just some observations. Thanks, Tri-City for a wonderful season. Let's keep dirt track racing alive, and allow it to thrive.

Don't quite understand the "you can get up and leave whenever you want" statement, stpower.

I want to see the entire program, that is why I go. It should not take 7 hours to complete the program. I don't show up in the 3rd inning, or leave in the 6th inning, of a baseball game.

And, as for as the "getting your money's worth" argument, let me just say this. I more than got my $28 worth out of last Saturdays 3 1/2 hour program. Last night, admission could have been $2 ..... the price doesn't matter ...... the length of the program was unacceptable.

That is all I am saying.

I used to go to the races with a car, and trust me, going in the pits does make the night go by a lot quicker than sitting on that wooden slab in the bleachers for 7 hours. But that is the problem ..... ultimately, it is the fan in the stands that keeps dirt track racing alive and pays the bills.

its nice seeing a new car show up but if your planning on making it your new home you need to look over the rules an build you a new car instead of your modified with a monte body on it. it says stock floor board an fire way i looked are your car a few times an it has neither

You old people should take a nap before ya go, Kevin and Tammy should get nothing but praises for what they have done...opening up to so many classes for the fans to see is a good thing...This post make me scratch my head !!!!

mudface, one final suggestion from this old man. When you finish scratching your head, print a copy of this post and put it in a safe place. Then, a few years from now, when you have nothing to do on Friday or Saturday nights during the summer, because the local dirt track has closed, you may need a refresher, to figure what has just happened.

I am not trying to be negative, just realistic. Constructive criticism intended to make what is already a fabulous racing facility into an even better place.

Tri City already has so much going for it. Great location, the friendliest staff from top-to-bottom of any race track that I have ever attended, and a schedule of special, big-money events that is unparalleled in the area.

I have already rambled on for far too long. If you don't agree, that is fine. It is just the way I feel. Time for this old guy to take a nap now ........ I was out too late last night. Thanks for reading.

Really? Most people, not all obviously, but MOST want to go see the whole show and be home at a reasonable time. Racing IS a family sport and you lost people when you can't do that. I have stayed home a few times because I didn't want to be there so late. Run 2 or 5 or 12 classes, just get the show over by 11 or so and everyone will be happy.

Are you so called RACEfans serious,, knocking the track because it got out late... comparing it to BASEBALL.... What if the game went into extra INNINNGS you either stayed and got your moneys WORTH or you left.. You have that option.. NO ONE tied you to the bleachers.. I appauld Kevin and Tammy for trying to bring great racing to this area.
Sorry to say I missed last nights racing,, I am way down in 'Dixie' visiting parents in Alabama. BUT if we were at home, you can bet we would have been there till the last checkered flag dropped..!

In fairness to the track, there were 3 big flips that held things up for a while too.

Also, a few drivers out there probably contributed to an hour or more of the time spent last night. Those drivers that spin out completely by themselves and sit and wait on the caution and then pull away. Most of these are drivers running in the back with no chance in h3ll of winning.

I will complain about Tri-City's pit shack and their very slow process of getting people in the pits. Only 2 people working the pit shack when they open and have 200-300 people waiting in line. When they saw the line building as big as it was they should of opened earlier or had a couple of more people working the pit shack to speed things along. I think it went till 6pm or so before they got caught up. Waiting for an hour or more in the line gets the night off to a bad start. This directly impacted them starting hotlaps at 6:55pm instead of racing at 6pm as advertised.

T-city's next advertising should read. Don't miss it!! Five action packed races after midnight!!

I went to the Poweri midget show at Belle-Clare. Great crowd, super organized show, fantastic passing and re-passing for the lead. Walked out the gate at 10:15.

Hey...The Tri City Crew did a Fantastic Job last night !!! The track was in great shape, nice and slick, not to dusty and the compitition was firece. If you didn't want to stay for the whole event you could have left. We watched the races and had no Idea it was after midnight. Because we didn't look at the clock.
The TCS crew were just trying to give the racers what they wanted before the season was over.

Kevin, Tammy, and Crew You did a great Job... Thanks for all you do for our racers and fans.

See You In the SPRING !!!

With the poplar street bridge closed and one lane traffic from there up to branch street it took me an extra 1/2 hr to get there. I arrived 15 min before drivers meeting. When getting in line at the pit shack, I expressed my concern about making pill draw, and was politely told there would be no problem w/ pill draw. I was not the last in line at the pit shack either. Yes, it did take a while to get throught the pit gate, but I don't see too many other ways to do this process. Surely this affected the length of the evening as well. Either way, This was an end of the season special, and not a weekly show, and I wasn't expecting to be done by 11 pm. I guess the alternative would be to go somewhere else that was running last evening? Please understand that I respect everybody's opinion. And unfortunately you can't please everyone, but it seems as if they are at least trying, with adding b-mods that don't normally run there, extra payout, etc......
As for bomber83's post, RIGHT ON! At least look LEGAL

bnkr, its all good how do ya think i know about them naps lol..... 51 here in a few days the heart of a 25 yr old and very high mileage on my end would of made me wanna take a nap so i could watch all 5 classes but i do understand what your saying but im sure kevin busted his butt to get-r-done : )

The 10 car was teched twice. Once when we got there and after the heat win. We called ahead and told them what we had. They said must have proper carb and tires. We borrowed tires from John Bohn and crew. Thanx to John and Danny and all that contributed. When they checked the car they made us change several things and told us what we would have to do to run there on a regular basis. They were trying to get car count up high enough to double the normal payout. Guess you all dont like more money. Track was an equalizer and Dusty was not dominating in feature, even before tire started going down. I believe a regular won it, didnt they? Oh well, we had great fun and Tri City treated us better than our home track ever thought about. IF we come up there for good, we will be completely leagal. Have to look at the rules this winter and decide if it is worth it to do that. And as for the guy complaining at the track about our motor, turns 17.5 inches of vacuum at a thousand RPM. Dont think you got a vacuum rule, and I bet most cant say the same thing from what I heard idling around the pits.

After a great weekend of racing last week with just two classes of car, why would you have five classes of cars?

Tri City Runs 5 Classes of cars EVERY regular night, as most tracks do in this area.. Last night was a Big Money Paying Show that brought a lot of cars, 157 to be exact, it takes some time to run that many cars.. If you think u can do a better job promoting a track, go find one and run it the way u want, and see if u can do better.. JMO

And I would have been sitting right next to you to the end, as we always do. I can't believe they're complaining about seeing too much racing. OMG One year I saw the 4th of July fireworks on the 5th of July at Tri-City and didn't complain. Get real folks. You don't even realize that the racers have to load up their equipment, wait for checks, and relax for awhile in the pits after the races. So we get out even later than the fans do. You either love racing and stay or you go home when it gets too late for you. Just can't seem to make some people happy. TCS presents a program with 5 classes racing and people complain. Hey, I would have been there if the Sportsman were racing...that would have been 6 classes!!!!

With tracks closing due to low car counts and people wanna complain about too many cars??? Im sorry.for what i paid for me and my daughter i totally got my money's worth. We left around 12:30 due to we vboth had to get up early. Im not complaining...i loved the show. My fault i couldnt get to see it all. And the races were held up due to the sun....nothing else. Waited till it went down before someone crashed.
