New Waverly, Texas (09/26/17) – The past few months have been quite the challenge for Tyler Erb in his First Class Septic #91 New Point Lighting and Design/ Rocket XR1 Chassis /Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model. However, last weekend he got things back on track as he competed in a triple header Kansas and Oklahoma.

Tyler Erb returned to competition with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series on Friday night at Lakeside Speedway (Lakeside, Kansas), where the event posted a $10,000, top prize. With 21 cars on hand, Erb posted a 3[sup]rd[/sup]-place finish in his heat race, locking him into the 8[sup]th[/sup]-starting position for the opening night feature. Coming one spot shy of a Top 10 finish, Tyler slipped back to an 11[sup]th[/sup]-place outing.

On Saturday night Tyler headed to Salina Highbanks Speedway (Salina, Oklahoma) for the Bravado Wireless Green County 50. Slipping five spots in his heat, Erb recorded a 7th place finish transferring him into the A-Main with the 19[sup]th[/sup]-starting position. Passing six cars in the 50-lapper, Tyler reeled in a 13[sup]th[/sup]-place finish.

The following night Erb stopped at 81 Speedway (Park City, Kansas) to close out the World of Outlaws-sanctioned, tripleheader weekend. After laying down the second-fastest time in qualifying, Tyler cruised to a heat race victory, positioning him second on the starting grid for the $8,000-to-win A-Main. Erb jumped to the lead on the opening circuit of the 40-lapper and built a more than three second advantage over the field. He would hold the point until a lap-23 restart when Brandon Sheppard jumped to the lead. Tyler would go on to notch a second-place finish behind Brandon Sheppard with Austin Siebert, Chase Junghans, and Shane Clanton completing the Top-5 finishers.

“I really didn’t want to see the caution but it happens,” said Erb. “It just wasn’t my night. Running second to Sheppy is as close as you can get to a win. He’s obviously the best car in the country. We were pretty good. We went a little softer on tires. It didn’t really hurt us but once he got going I couldn’t run that line up there. I’m just happy to run second. We’ve been kind of on a downhill for the past month or so, but hopefully we’ve got things pointed back in the right direction now.”

Tyler sits sixth in the World of Outlaws point standings. For more results from these events, please visit www.WoOLMS.com .

The upcoming weekend – September 28-30 – will take Tyler to Bob Harris’ Duck River Raceway Park (Wheel, Tennessee), where he’ll chase a $14,000 top prize in the 6[sup]th[/sup] annual Deep Fried 75.
