UMP adds $$ to each tracks local point fund in 2005!

Well lets see here the unsanctioned track has a points fund, and a newsletter, and no sanctioning fee.

Pretty much the same as UMP just no liscense fee.

So tell me again what does UMP offer that the unsanctioned tracks doesnt ??

Oh yes the national points that I could care less about....

20k lol

Yeah right 20 k for the points fund fund winner at a local track dream on.

UMP does not pay that either you are only talking about the national points champ.

Again most local racers could care less about national points. So I ask again what does UMP have to offer other than national points sounds like I can get the rest at the local unsanctioned track.

Now if you were talking about a REAL santioning body then we might get additional insurance for the liscense fee but we are talking about UMP here so no dice.

Hey dirthound, make up your mind! First you were all against the NEW UMP, mouthing about this and that, and now you're their number one supporter. Your legs must hurt from all that jumping from one side of the fence to the other.

I Agree With Big Bad Bear. Most Of The Guys Who Run Ump Tracks Do So Because It Practically The Only Choice In This Area. Most Of Them Don't Run For The Ump Points And Probably Don't Have The Backing To Run For The Championship. Its All About Making Dirt Money Plain And Simple. Yes They Have Increased The Champions Purse. But, Its Chump Change Compared To What They'll Take In. Simple Math Will Tell You That...........3500 Mods X $75=$264,425.00 8000 Mods X $75= 600,000.00 They Throw 10 G's On Hear And There....whooopee! Thats Not Even Counting What They'll Get For The Late Models.

Like I've Said, The $75 Bucks Isn't The Big Deal, Its Just The Principle Of It. The Cooprate Dirt Fat Cats Are Just Padding Their Pockets Off The Racers. Squeezing Even More Out Of Them And Giving Back To Very Few!

I cannot address the membership fees or benefits of holding a UMP license, but I can clarify a few things:

SOME officials of SOME sanctioning bodies are de facto members of the sanctioning body, and are not required to PURCHASE a membership. Therefore, they are not mooches. And if you think only cars draw fans, try to string a few shows together without allowing people such as announcers, webmasters, et al, to give you some free pub.

When TCS was a NASCAR sanctioned track many complained, and indeed, did not join, because their perception was the license was too expensive. However, others did recognize the benefit, namely, $1,125,000 in secondary insurance coverage. Is everyone comfortable that their own personal insurance will cover all expenses in the case of a catastrophic injury?

If you are, your kidding yourself.

scribbles you make good points, I would not care about the liscense fee.....
IF UMP offered secondary insurance, BUT the fact is they dont.
