UMP Crate Late Model Questions

Does anyone know what tracks are OFFICIALLY running UMP crate late models for 2008? Also, I heard there were possibly some changes to the rules that were previously released. Has anyone heard anything OFFICIAL on this?

Thanks
HH-

The only changes are a couple of small changes to the shock claim rules. Those will be updated in the next few days.

Sanctioned tracks include
Tri-City Speedway
Lake Ozark Speedway
Paducah Int'l Raceway
Soggy Bottom Raceway
Mt. Vernon Raceway

I'm told Clay County Speedway can sanction as well, but UMP has not heard from them.

UMP will now claim the shocks of competitiors who win for a 3rd time at each track. Those shocks will then be auctioned off after the races to the highest bidder.

why? i am assuming you are one of the guys running high dollar ones? well, racing is becoming far from equal these days, and it is good to see someone doing that.

Jimmy- Thanks for the information. Hopefully, they can make final rules decisions in the near future. Honestly, all this talk about shocks is giving me a headache. All they need to do is set the rules and enforce them whether it be for shocks, tires, engines, or whatever....

Thanks Again,
HH-

I'm just kiddin on that..... but it did sound good

I'm gettin to the point where I dont give a chit no more, nobody wants to race fair, they cry when they cant spend daddys money, bragg about spending a ton of money on non- cannisters, they own 4 sets of cannisters to run crate for $500 to win, It's retarded

Actually the shocks are fairly cheap now since you can't have canisters, you just might have to buy a few more. The guys that didn't have canisters will still have what they use & the guys who had canisters will have a trailer full of what they need.

I did hear from a little bird that the price of the shock claim was going to be raised.

Sean2 (fastrak) you know who i am. I just think that ALL the cry babies out there that are B#$%hing about this needs to look at all the other stuff that teams have on the cars 2. I think that the shock claims should be the 4 corners for $1500 dollars that sounds good 2 me.

Now that the Ohlins are gone now, we now are going 2 have 2 have 40 shocks in the trailer, but i do love the new tire rule (40's). Yes fastrak i get your shock joke.

Please define "what they need". Thats the problem, they have been brainwashed into thinking that they need 20 shocks or cannisters. Anyone who's knowlegable and doesnt have an agenda will tell you that with 5 to 7 shocks, you can be just as good 99% of the time. For those of you who think you need 20, buy 20, it's your money. For those of you that have sense, buy the 6 you will need 99% of the time and RACE!!! You dont need to change gas pressure, compression and rebound after every session.

Sean, you'd argue with a damn housecat!!!! lol

I quit, I'm not gonna try and win this debate. Some people cant drive so they need 30 shocks. That gives them a "had the wrong shock" excuse when they dont outrun anyone. If it takes 30, those 5 I own must be "magic shocks" lmao

Shane, I agree with you. We always run the 5 we have. But they are going to buy 'em. It will be the same money spent, and the same valve of shocks with 5 or 20. If they need in a canister a special valving, they will get it with that one shock now. They will still have the valvings they need, just with more junk in the trailer.
