UMP Crate Late Model Questions

Questions

Anyone noticed that the UMP rules do not state GASOLINE only? Also UMP does not state the part about you cannot change harmonic balancer, valve covers, ect. I was wondering if these rules were thrown together quickly to get some rules on the web, & more definite rules would follow, or if these were omitted on purpose?
 
Jimmy- Thanks for the follow-up and posting the updated rules. With the ways that they rules are written now I dont see a lot of people claiming shocks.

Lets assume that some of you are right, and that all you need is 6 to 10 shocks for your car.Then you are going to spend aprox. 800 to 1200 dollars. If I want to spend 2700 for my 6 shocks and have no advantage as you say when why should you care. What about the new RR tire that some of you put on every night,should we limit that too?I raced 27 times this year between Fastrak And CARS on 9 tires, and did not run too bad. Think maybe my shocks might have helped on my tire bill. How many tires did you all buy this year? If you are going to try and limit the amount of money people are going to spend then we need to look at a different sport. If you try to equalize ever aspect of racing then you will have nothing more than a race like Daytona or Talladega, and we can watch for the bigone! I will not be racing with UMP this year due to the new rules, I am sure that no one cares, but my point is that when you run off race cars for whatever reason it is bad for the sport. Lot of people know you and stuff, and i'm sure they care a lot about what you have to say and what your gonna do next. So you should probably get an official press release on here for your "fans" so they know whats goin on.
 
cant we all just get along? its UMP's rule to claim shocks and not use certain ones. if they want that rule, they will make it, as they did. griping about it only gets people frustrated at eachother and at other people. they made the rule, so abide by it if you want to run with them. rules are rules. it's life. can't live with em, can't live without em. it will make it a lot more simple if people just live with it.
 
Well little ray ray no we can't all get along, you know that the guys with the HIGH dollar shocks are just going to still have the best shocks around. So the cry babies need to get over it and better have so MONEY for the shocks that they think that they are going to get cheap. lmao
P.S. you know you like hanging around with the boys with high dollar shocks!!!!!!

Good luck to you guys next year. I know where you can buy a 2 time track champion and 16 time winning 03 Rocket to run. Where getting out all together. If you know any one that need a great car Have them give Ron a call.

Here is my thought on the shock rule.
1) The rule was made to keep the cost down????????????
2) It is being said on this thread that if you know what you are doing with non-canisters you do not need them.
3) I bought the canisters with my new car and they were legal.
4) Now it is going to cost me more money to buy new shocks and have spares to make up for the lack of adjustments.

This whole thing makes no sense. Now we have to buy new tires(more Grip), new balancer (more horsepower), fuel additive (more Power). Let me know when all this starts saving me money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are running cars off before they even get started.
 
Question is macon going to run this class with the super late models and if so can they run the cannister shocks with them.
