UMP Late Models go back to 4 tire compounds for 2008

Everyone said Kevin would be hurt for not going UMP. Sounds to me like this is still a good option for other tracks. Good call Kevin, 2 years in a row.
 
I hope everyone understands my position on this tire rule. All of you that support TCS 20 or so weekly shows a year that we appreciate that! Our tire rule will remain the same on any show, meaning that there is no reason to change that rule when you can run for larger purses! It does not make sense to me that we should have to spend alot more money on tires when a touring series comes to our track. If they want to be there they will be on our tire rule, NO EXCEPTIONS!

Just a few examples from the previous couple of years:

M.A.R.S. - WRS-55 or LM/40

Lucas Oil Late Models - Hoosier LM/40 or American Racer MD/56 (Previous Years) Hoosier LM/40 Won the Last 3 Years.

2008 Lucas Oil Late Models: Hoosier LM/20 or LM/40
American Racer SD/44 or MD/56

This was implemented to keep our weekly racers competitive without added expense.

Kevin you are exactly right . If more promoters and track owners would step up this cheating could be controlled. I think its great to see you be the first to step up to the plate. All the past talk about how bad you need ump is bs ump needs you someone who uses common sense . I think this whole deal down on Georgia was a case of tracks and series being run by big names. If they would have kicked yang out of the dream and world 100 the message would have been sent and the cheating could have been controlled. This rule is only making the sport weaker!
 
I think UMP walked into a trap at GIS. Now can they hang onto the World and the dream? It appears the CHEATER'S have the clout.

I agree!! And thanks Kevin for having th guts to tell them like you seeit..........as we do here as well. When a sport comes to the point they let the big dogs run their rules........it will only hurt it. Slap in the face for the guys who try their best to run clean and legal
 
just thinking with warped sense of humor lol with worrying about the 35 k motor that put out over 800 horse how about this all cars have 20's
