Evansville, IN (July 9, 2008) Tait Davenport of Paducah, KY has had a lot of success in 2008 in the UMP Pro Late Model division. In twenty starts, he has already accumulated thirteen feature victories. That certainly didn't go unnoticed by UMP officials and on Friday, June 27th, UMP officials impounded Davenport's engine after the feature event at Paducah International Raceway for inspection.

UMP provided Davenport with a brand new crate engine as a replacement and took his motor to an authorized GM engine rebuilder to have it fully inspected. The inspection has been fully completed and Davenport's engine was found to be 100% legal.

UMP would like to thank Davenport for being fully cooperative with the impound of his engine. Davenport will keep all of his accumulated points and winnings.

UMP will be conducting similar engine impounds at various times throughout the 2008 season to ensure competitors are keeping their GM crate engines legal.
