UMP Pro Late Special Races?

I am curious if any St Louis tracks (within 300 miles) were planning on running any UMP Pro Late Model special races with increased payout? Also, does anyone know if any tracks are planning on running Pro Late Models during their Summer Nationals program.

Thanks

Look at the Tri-City schedule. At the very minuim, Sep has the UMP Pro Late Model Championship. There may be more.

As for the Summer Nationals, have not heard much so far on support classes. Normally, Modifieds are support class, but that could change this year. Have to wait and see what develops.

It would be great if a couple of local tracks were able to run a couple of $2,000-$3,000 to win UMP Pro Late Model shows for 2008. I thought someone might add it to their Summer National show and make it one big late model and modified show. If anyone knows of any other shows please post the information.

Thanks

Here is a new provision from UMP.....

"UMP Dirtcar Pro Late Models feature win purse limited to $500.00 to win. Each track may run up to two special UMP DIRTcar Pro Late Model events paying a maximum of $2000.00"

I don't think it is right that they have limited the purse for the weekly racers.

This whole UMP deal seems to get better all of the time. What are they doing to try to attract drivers to race in this class? Does anyone know what the payout for Clay County and Montgomery County looks like? If so, please feel free to post.

Thanks

I agree Sean, if they are going to set a max then it should be at least $100 higher than the $500 average or they should set a mandatory purse where the pay is better on back. I hate when all the guys complain about what it pays to win and not what the purse is. Dont they understand that only 1 will win so alot go home empty handed. Make it a good purse where guys wont be crashing each other for the $500 1st place or the $200 2nd.

I do not agree with the dollar limit either, but everytime you start throwing big money to win shows you get the big money teams showing up and usually taking home the win. Keeping the payout a little lower may be a way to keep them from looking at it IMO.
