UMP Super Late Model Feature Event
Billy Moyer took the point on the lead Jeep VanWormer was started to fall back when Don O’Neal was threatening, but VanWormer and, local favorite, Kevin Cole came back up to take the second and third spots. By lap four VanWormer did fall back to fourth but it was by the hands of Cole and Randy Korte running second and third, respectively. Korte took over Cole for second on lap six.
Back in the field English was working his way into the top five, but O’Neal was giving him a hard way to go holding on to the fifth position. On lap ten English took over the fifth spot. While these two were racing Terry Casey had time to catch up and make a three way battle for fifth, it was English taking the spot with Casey in sixth and O’Neal falling back in the field.
Moyer was gaining on lap traffic by lap 15, this slowed him down just enough for, defending National points champion, Korte to gain a lot of ground towards the lead. Korte was down by three car lengths on lap 19 was continuing to gain. Michael Steele and AJ Diemel pulled their Super Late Models off of the race track on lap 19.
Kevin Cole was (what I thought) to be forming a bad tire rub. It was much more severe on lap 23 he pulled off of the track right before the power plant went up in flames. Cole was out of the car without injury, and the flames were put out.
Moyer had made his way out back ahead of Korte by lap 29. With Korte falling back VanWormer was gaining and inching towards the third seed. After taking fourth from English, Jeff Taylor was also closing in on this race. Turn four of lap 34 they came out three wide for third. This race was slowed down with VanWormer in second, Korte in third and Taylor in fourth.
The first caution came on lap 35 for Jason Fegers blowing a tire on the front stretch. VanWormer got an amazing run on the restart pushing underneath Moyer. Turn four was his big run, but in turn two he got ahead of Moyer for a split second. On the last lap VanWormer had the lead by a nose, but took turn three too hot and lost it, it was Billy Moyer taking the win.

UMP Open Wheel Modified Feature Event
Ricky Waggoner jumped infront of Randle Sweeney on the start of the race. Todd Miller was closing in on these two running in third. Miller was there on lap four looking on the inside of Sweeney. Sweeney caught a break when Dustin Isom spun out at the base of turn one bringing out the first caution of the face.
Sweeney and Miller made it interesting on the restart bringing it in close on Waggoner. Mike Spatola had a great restart jumping up to the fourth position over Steve Copeland.
Copeland was running a tough race with Jeff Elliott and Justin Houston on lap 10 running three wide much of the time around the track. Elliott took the fifth spot on lap 11. Lap 12 was under caution, it fell after Darrell Brewer looped around in turn two. Brewer fell out of the race during this caution.
Sweeney made a hard charge for the lead with three laps to go. Sweeney was working the high side but Waggoner was cutting him off coming from the bottom. They made contact on the last lap, all this did was hurt Sweeney setting him back two car lengths and giving the win to Ricky Waggoner
