UMP takes Korte's crate motor after feature win at Tri-City Speedway!

I'd love to see both Korte and Faust run in that big Crate race at TCS this fall.
The crate class was suppose to be a lower cost L.M. class for drivers who were struggling with the cost of the super L.M.

Somehow I don't think Korte or Faust or struggleling. One of the reason they are so fast is thier knowledge & inventory of shocks and other suppention pieces. Kind of takes the class out of the hands of the guys is was designed to help.

Clarification from "Taking Randy Korte's Motor"

All promoters that run the Crate Late Model division were notified at the
"Beginning of the Year" by UMP, that a UMP Official would be making surprise visits throughout the year at several facilites running the Crates with (No Prior Notice) and taking the WINNERS motor for that evening. Not just someone's in particular.

It didn't matter that Randy won, who ever would have won Friday Night
would have their motor taken by UMP.

Thank you
Tammy Gundaker

Bad argument, cannister shocks are illegal on UMP Crates. No Super Late Model driver in his right mind would run without them on a Super. Competition is as it should be, open to anyone with a LEGAL car. We will find out in about a week if that car was legal.

i know super late model drivers that dont run canister shocks, a lot of the guys cant afford to buy them.

local drivers that win do not need canister shocks,Michael Kloos runs Konis on his rayburn as well as Rodney Melvin, and Mark Voigt run Billsteins.

Saying that someone is too good or too experienced to run in a class is rather communistic. What about Mark Oller? What about Clay Baumann? Nobody ever brings up these guys. Rodney Melvin will occasionally drive one of the Heck cars. Are those guys too experienced?

If you have a legal car to drive you should be able to compete regardless of what your name is.

I don't see anyone complaing about Schrader racing the Modified's at I-55.

If you have a legal car for any class, you should be able to race. Someone should not be over-qualified to race in a class. They are not called Amatuer Late Models!

I remember Danny Haynes & Rusty Griffaw driving pro 4's.

You are right Jimmy, I have never heard of "over qualified or amateur" in racing.

COMMUNISTIC? What? Outcome based affirmative action could not be more American. At least in this new America. To make the government happy the track needs to provide Equal Opportunity to insure there is no discrimination against the unabled[sic]. Quotas, handicapped starts, flattened pay scale, variable weight rules and other special rules that would be applied to the successful. Its the Democratic way.

There you go. How about any Super Late Model driver that competes in a crate car has to give the last place driver his Super Late Model to drive in that race.WTF. A race is a race no matter what drivers are in it.

That was the most incoherent attempt at intelligence that I have ever seen.

Jimmy, thanks for backing up my statement!! My point exactly! UMP doesn't do it!

sean...the whole point of doing it this way,(and i am sure this escapes you entirely, as you are clueless in doing things honestly) is that the engine is sent to an independent facility with no ties or allegiance to anyone.that way it is done fairly and without biased or prejudice: that way it is done correctly...unlike a former [failed]director or person in charge of a now closed local crate series that only succeeded in beating up a former crew member, knocking him off a motorcycle with a folding chair, and NOTHING else... now, who might THAT be?

You're an idiot!! What does it matter who looks at it as long as they know what they are doing? I've read some of your post before and this just goes along with my opinion of you. IDIOT!!!

not saying anyones cheating but we been to four or five different tracks this year and not one time has anyone checked out the cars they could be looking for that could give a guy a few more horse power without doing anything to the inside of the motor and how does the tracks know what motor u r running a 602 or 604 u could be running a604 tell them u got a 602 and then u would not have to weigh as much c how easy it could be to cheat without trying to hard not to get caught if there is no tech so my question is how come no tracks has had tech this year
