UMP vs Wissota Proactive engine rules

http://wissota.org/?p=5185
Wissota teams up with local engine builders to develop an affordable "concept engine" package. While it does not do much for the Ford guys it looks like a very affordable alternative to just relying on crate engines. While at first glance the 10 to 12 k price tag for the latemodel/modified package seems a little steep, it does however leave open the option for the racer that can build their own competitive engine at a reasonable cost. Add in the opportunity for local engine builders to not only supply local racers with a quality/competitive product, it opens up more sponsorship opportunities, a win win situation for engine builders and racers. The only issue I see is tech... everyone knows UMP is allergic to teching race cars.

Dave you didn't run enough of the races to even know... besides I had very little control over what was teched especially at I55. I was very happy with the competition within the series. Ask the guys that ran it. I didn't hear a word from you when we were at I55 in fact I remember you thanking me for putting the series together. I guess you are either 2 faced or just recently became an ahole. It's really funny how the only racer to ever approached me about rules and teching cars over the entire 3 years we ran the series was Jeff Herzog. His big concern was making sure the transmissions had all the gears in them. Could I have teched more? Probably... Would it have made a difference? Probably not. Am I an expert? My record speaks for its self. I think I had a pretty good grasp on the sportsman class at that time. I find it really funny that your ripping me for something that happened 3 or 4 years ago. You act like I'm the one who killed the sportsman class. Like I said... ask the guys that ran the series how much they liked it. Considering you were one of those that didn't support it, your opinion means very little to me.

This is why no one wants to do special series. Some racers don't appreciate it and only complain. Precisely why racing is going in the shitter!

Also,Wissota is trying to control the cost of racing. UMP could take a lesson. Once again Sammy listen closely. One tire only for all classes. Etc etc

I specifically remember having issues with you and your rules at Belleville and I55 and speaking to you in person both times. I didn't say you ruined sportsmans and I'm bringing up the past because the same stuff you are saying is the same stuff people were saying about your series then. Yes you have your supporters just like UMP.

You want to point blame at everyone else yet you had the same exact issues.

And I've called UMP and discussed many things I don't agree with that they do so no I'm not one sided. I don't think they do everything right and there is a lot of room for improvement. Just like I told you the good and bad from my perspective back then.

I just think it's hilarious that you can whine and cry about others and be so vocal when you had the same issues.

And Al, I agree with a lot of your points but the way you go about it takes away from them. Everything is so sarcastic and negative. You sound like the people you rip on in a lot of ways. Everyone knows you don't like Sam, we get it.

Dave, glad you get it. Please accept that my sarcasm and negativity are narrowly targeted! Only Obama shares that distinction with Slamming Sammy but it's well deserved!

Tech is always gonna be the problem in the limited motor classes. The mods have had open motors for years suspension products has gotten out of hand..and since they like to rework the tracks at intermission now days and put them back to heat race conditions classes are more motor friendly than ever...I like the idea of putting everyone on ROCK hard tires..

Hey dean lets go another three years the old man is ready You did a awesome job dude coolest thing i ever did racing.
