Weather readyness!

Hi John:

We have done most of the pre season budget work and we have set most of our goals for the 08 season.
I have had some difficulty with the financial aspect of the 08 season due to knowing how to keep me out of problems with the irs.
The new software package that we are using at the shop will not let me receive funds without some place to put them or generating an invoice against them.
I have the TAX guy working on this so we can begin to purchase the necessary parts to finish the cars.
All of the sponsors are on board and I have received checks from them, but I can't deposit them until I can tell the damn computer where they belong.
Running a business and a racing operation is more then just a handful.
To do it right you must be married to it!

I can tell you all that we won't be ready until the season opener at best.
I did not budget for any pre season practice.
All the efforts will be spent on competition events only.
The trouble is we could use the practice.
We will be on e-mods this year per the rules and we need 25 wheels and tires just to get started..
That alone is a big chunk of the 08 budget.
The trailer needs 6 new wheels and tires as well.
Our team pays a minimum of $150.00 for entry fee each week
and that does not include the towing and racing fuel.
Speaking of fuel!
We eat up another $25.00 worth of food each week at the track.

These are some of the reasons I lobbied so hard to keep the race car cost down.
Anything we do is times 3 and the cost go up quick.
At the end of the 80 season we will have spent just over $50K for the 3 seasons we have raced.
I did not pay that much for the first house I bought!
And while I did not foot the whole bill my company spent a bunch on this endeavor.
Fuel for the truck and the cars not to mention the insurance for the truck and trailer.
Countless hours spent during work hours to take care of the parts orders and make deals with sponsors.
The HEIDENHAIN 10K race alone took many hours of wheeling and dealing with Mel and Rick to put together, all done during work hours.
So they have spent allot on this as well.
Please visit our site and see if you can use our services.
We are the best at what we do with over 40 years of experience and I will extend a discount to anyone who is in the racing family.

On the flip side I would not change a thing about what we have done.
I am proud of how we have come along and I think we have a shot at having all of my cars in the top spots the year, but we all know how hard that will be.
As far as the weather is concerned, we have a heated shop to work on the cars, we just need to figure out how to spend the sponsors money without going to jail in the process. lol.

Team HEIDENHAIN will be out there when we are ready!
The boys and the crew are chomping at the bit to finish the cars.
When the funds are turned loose, a small ARMY of people will be climbing all over those cars.
There is nothing like a good thrash before the opening event to set your mind right for the season!

Good luck to all in 08.
Lets have a fun and safe 08 season.

Team HEIDENHAIN

Can't wait to see the Heidenhain crew and cars for the 08 season. You guys always have the best looking cars and crew out there. Well the crew uniforms look good; I can't really say that about the crew members themselves.
