Update: Conrad miner

I was at St. John's this morning checking on Conrad. Conrad is doing really well and the Doc's are still pleased with his progress. Conrad is still sedated----HOWEVER...............................
As of 6pm last night, they have stopped the sedation medicine and replaced with a drug that will not shock his system as he starts waking up on his own. It could take several days for the sedation meds to get out of his system. We are hoping that by Saturday morning, Conrad is arguing with Mark, Theresa and Eryn about trying to race Saturday night!

Mark, Theresa and Eryn and the entire family are very grateful for all the calls, visits, thoughts and prayers that you have expressed. Please continue to keep Conrad in your prayers.

I have received alot of questions about if an account would be set up for Conrad to help with medical and other expenses due to Conrad's injury. Here is the information:

Make checks payable to: Conrad Miner Charity mail to:

Brian Iles
32 Copper Mountain Ct
Fenton, MO 63026

or

you can stop by any US Bank location and make a deposit into the Conrad Miner Charity account.
The account number is: 152312132359

That is good news that he is improving. Hope everything goes well and he comes out in good shape. Keep us updated with good news.

Awesome to hear the good news. Make it quick because I was enjoying watching you beat up on the old man. Lol

It is great that Conrad is doing better, Blake ask me everyday how he is doing. This should be a reminder to us all. Tell those close to you how much you love them. Help those in need of help when possible. And never think that accidents won't happen to you. Because if they do, nothing can give any of us a second chance to let love ones and friends truely know how we feel. We miss you Conrad, and we can't wait to see your smiling face back at the track. Get well soon!

The last 36 hrs have been a rough ride. ICP numbers became erratic as he came out of coma med. Drs seem to think he needs more time in med induced coma, so meds were started last night about 11:30 in combination with hypo thermia therapy. The hypo thermia allows the meds to work at a lower dosage and keeps swelling of brain down. ICP was good all night and this a.m. Dr is pleased and wants to continue as is until mid week. Family is most appreciative of all the love and support (and food!),,,,,

Thank you for the update. The waiting and wondering must be so difficult - we can't even begin to imagine. Our hearts go out to Conrad, his family and his friends. Find strength in knowing he has a strong and powerful network praying for his full recovery and it will come with time. It sounds like his doctors and nurses are very attentive to his current needs and that's important. The human body has such an amazing ability to heal that it is sometimes unbelieveable what we are often able to fully bounce back from. Remember that Conrad is a determined and vibrant young man with a strong will to overcome. His competitve edge is definitely a plus in this.

Stay strong, keep the faith, and we will all keep the prayers and positive thoughts coming Conrad's way.

Conrad had a rough night again last night with ICPs. The family is most appreciative of all the visits from family and friends, however they are requesting no visitors or phone calls today.the website will be updated with current happenings. Thank you very much for allyour support.

Please stop by the Caringbridge Website and leave a note of support.

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find ; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who ask receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened " Matthew 7: 7-8

I am knocking on that door, for it to be opened for a speedy recovery for Conrad

Conrad and his family continue in my prayers.

The coma med was discontinued last night. Today we are seeing small signs of Conrad waking up; his eyes are slightly open and he is coughing on his own (not from the pnuemonia but from the aggravation of the vent tubes.) For now patience is our ally. More later.....
