I heard Doug Mealy from Fulton, MO will be announcing. Hopefully this is true because he's one of the best around. he's announced at Callaway Raceway, 24 Raceway, and Quincy in the past and is a former driver himself.
I stopped by there about an hour ago talked to Casey and Randy and went and looked at the track. The new banking looks great, as does the super wide corners. A bulldozer is still moving dirt, and a bobcat is placing concrete barriers along the back stretch. Looks like they will be racing at MMSP come Memorial Day.
It is really incredible the amount of progress they have made. Hats off to Randy and Casey for making this happen.
nice to see progress and to see the track re-open, gonna miss the high banks it made for good racing and was different from other tracks in the area, look forward to running there again
It looks like it's going to be a fast track, I hope they can get some 410 or 360 Sprint shows this year. Never the less, i'm glad they are opening it back up, I only went there a couple times a year, but like Godfrey, and St. Charles, I missed it when it was gone!
Guy the pics dont do this track justice it has 75ft wide turn 60 ft wide straights 18 degree turns and 10 degree straights .
And for the questions is this done not even close we are still moving dirt we have a lighting expert coming with light meters soon to position the track lights and sound guy working on the speaker system this track is getting a complete make over .
And yes Doug Mealy is going to one of our announcers along with Wes Rider should be great !
The track wants to thank everyone for all the support from the racers and fans !
Opening night we will have some of the best racing to be seen with all the quality racecars and drivers coming to this track you wont want to miss this it is going to be a wild weekend !!!!!!!!!!!!
