Atlanta, GA - The USCS Open Wheel Modified Series season-opener at Malden Speedwayhas been moved back one week earlier to Friday, March 23rd and Saturday, March 24th. The two day event will pay $1500 to win Saturday night's 30 Lap feature. Including the posted bonuese $2000 will be possible for one driver to win.
The season opening event for the 2nd year open wheel series was originally scheduled to occur six days later, but will now be a part of Malden Speedway's March 23rd-24th, 1st annual "Bootheel 200" event.

The early-season event (one of approximnatley 20)will award points on an optional basis. If a driver does well at this event they may elect to use this event for points or if they do poorly they can throw this one away. If they have a bad event later they can go back and use this Malden opener to replace a bad race. This will be the only points optional event for the 2007 season.
We just felt like that it would beneficial to the series to give drivers the option to use this race or not to use it for several reasons.

The USCS Open Wheel Modifeds will headline Friday's pole qualifying action in the two-day event that will feature lots of side by side racing in seven divisions including the O'Reilly USCS sprint cars, USCS Open Wheel Modifieds, Malden's Crate Late Models, Hobby Stock, Street Stock, Mini Stock and E-MOD classes.

Friday's racing program will feature test and tune hot laps for all divisions and full racing action in six classes with pole-qualifying rounds for all six divisions. The United Speed Contest Sanction, LLC double-header event will also feature a $2000 to win USCS O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series race on Saturday(March 24th).

Saturday's racing action will include a full racing program for the O'Reilly USCS sprint cars plus Dashes, B-Mains and A-Mains for the USCS Open Wheel Modifieds, Malden's Crate Late Model, Hobby, Street Stock, E-MOD and Mini Stock divisions that all qualified on Friday night
