USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour winged sprint cars headline USCS Florida State Sprint Car Championship Race at Bubba Raceway Park on Friday and Saturday, September 21st and 22nd.



Atlanta, GA – September 19, 2018 - The Fayetteville, Georgia based United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters winged sprint cars make their third 2018 visit to Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida on Friday and Saturday, September 21st and 22nd. The event is entitled the USCS Florida State Sprint Car Championship Race (2018) presented by FireAde . The series’ 130 mile per hour USCS winged Outlaw type sprint cars headline the two-day weekend of racing action at the semi-banked three-eighths mile D-shaped oval track. The racing card also includes racing in several f the speedways Stock Car racing divisions each night.



The United Sprint Car Series portion of the event will give a driver who can sweep the weekend’s USCS racing elements an opportunity to pick up $3500 in cash prize winnings plus contingency awards. Friday night’s 20-lap preliminary night winner will receive a $1500 paycheck upon arriving first in the www.rockauto.com USCS Victory Lane. Saturday night’s 30-lap Championship final winner will receive a $2000 paycheck.



The event expects to draw winged sprint car drivers from at least six states including several of the series 2018 feature winners. Heading the entry list is 2017 USCS National Champion, Jordon Mallett from Greenbrier, Arkansas who is also the current National points leader and a nine-time USCS main event winner during the 2018 season.



Mallett currently leads the point standings over 11-time USCS National Champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee who is in the runner-up spot in the National point standings by less than 10 points. Gray is also a two-time 2018 winner and has over 90 career USCS wins.



A number of other top drivers from the Southeastern United States are entered including the 2015 preliminary night winner Danny Martin, Jr. from Sarasota, Florida. Martin also stormed into the lead in the 2015 Championship final only to have a deflating left rear tire come apart and send him to the sidelines. Martin, who is recognized as one of Florida’s top sprint car competitors over the last decade with many wins in in-state competition won three times in 2016 USCS competition, and hopes to return to Championship form in the USCS action this weekend with a sweep as his goal.



Another challenge for all of these drivers will be to beat track fan-favorite, 16-year-old Tyler Clem from Tampa, Florida, who has three USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour main event wins at his home track since 2016. He swept the April 2018 USCS weekend of competition by winning on both nights. Clem who has won in three different type race cars at the track (Sprint Car, Late Model and Modified) and is always a force to be reckoned with when the USCS sprint car teams invade his home turf.



Other USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour expected entries include: The 2015 USCS Rookie of the Year, Nick Snyder from Marco Island, Florida and 2016 USCS Rookie of the Year Danny Sams III from Northport, Florida are both entered as well as is the 2012 USCS Rookie of the Year, Jeff Willingham from Ripley, Mississippi.



Other veteran sprint car drivers expected to enter include National Sprint Car Hall of Fame 2015 Inductee, Danny Smith from Chillicothe, Ohio who has several career USCS victories including one at Crossville Speedway in April of 2018. Smith who is a top five competitor at almost any event, has won the track Championship at his home track, Atomic Speedway over the last three years is a legend in sprint car circles World Wide.



Other veteran drivers from the neighboring state of Georgia include, Joe Larkin from Suwannee, Georgia who is in third place in the current USCS Southern Thunder Tour regional series point standings and Brian Thomas from Pendergrass, Georgia. The Jeff and Danny Oliver, both from Pendergrass, Georgia are also expected to entered on both nights.



At least five USCS regulars from the state of Florida are also entered including Tony Agin from Ft. Myers who finished in the top five in the 2017 USCS National point standings. Agin currently ranks fifth in the 2018 version of the standings. Father and Son, Terry and Tanner Witherspoon, Shawn Murray and Mark Ruel, Jr. all from Jacksonville, Florida and Bob Auld from Largo, Florida are all entered for this weekend’s event as well.



Additionally, Matt Kurtz from Jacksonville, Florida and AJ. Maddox from Tampa are among the Florida

Drivers seeking their first victory in a USCS Florida State Sprint Car Championship event as well.
