The United Sprint Car Series (USCS) presented by Goodyear www.uscsracing.com Outlaw Thunder Tour invades Clarksville Speedway on Sunday night July 3rd for the first time in four years as headliners of the Clarksville Speedway “Firecracker 100”. The event serves as round three of a sprint car triple-header scheduled over the 2011 Independence Day holiday weekend.

The special Sunday night event is expected to bring top winged Outlaw style sprint car drivers from at least eight states to the track. The USCS sprint car race will award USCS presented by Goodyear National Championship points as well as USCS Mid-South Thunder regional series Championship points. The USCS Mid-South Thunder regional series primarily consists of races in Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri and West Tennessee

Drivers expected to compete include several who have been honored as National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Drivers of the Year. The 2007 USCS Clarksville Speedway feature winner and nine-time USCS National Champion, Terry Gray headlines the entry list. Tim Crawley who has won over twenty USCS main events over the last three seasons is entered. Three time Midwest All-Star Champion, Jerrod Hull from Sikeston, Missouri is also entered.

Additionally, the 2010 USCS Rookie of the Year 18 year-old female sprint car hot shoe, Morgan Turpen will also be in the field. Turpen, who just won her first USCS main event at East Alabama Motor Speedway on June 18th, is second in the current National standings.

An action packed USCS presented by Goodyear sprint car racing program will include test and tune hot laps followed by the evening's first sprint car race, the Goodyear Speed Dash that showcases the top six cars from the previous USCS main event in an edge-of-your-seat six-car shootout. The dash will be followed by a series qualifying heat races and a Last Chance/B-Main race(s). The evening’s grand finale will be the 30-lap “Clash at Clarksville” 30-lap A-main event.

Also featured on the special Sunday night Holiday weekend racing program is the new USCS 600 Sprint Car Series for winged mini sprints. That race will pit the weekly racers of the Clarksville Mini Sprint division against some of the country’s best racers in that division who are expected to travel to the speedway for this event.

Additionally several of Clarksville’s weekly racing divisions including the UMP Open Wheel Modified, Street Stock and Pure Mini Stock classes will compete for increased purses. All in all after the preliminary qualifying races in each division, there are 100 laps of main events plus a holiday fireworks celebration.
