Inside Line Promotions - TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. (April 23, 2019) - Sean Vardell will once again be competing full time with the TriboDyn Lubricants Carolina Sprint Tour in 2019 and his sights are set high.

The season starts this Saturday at Sumter Speedway in Sumter, S.C., where Vardell was victorious during the season opener last year.

"We've got 16 races lined up with the complete Carolina Sprint Tour," he said. "We also hope to get in some races at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa., for some IMCA points. If we hit some of those, it'll take us to about a 24-to-36 race schedule."

Vardell won the Carolina Sprint Tour Rookie of the Year Award last year. This year he hopes to be in contention for the points championship and to win more races than he did last year.

"The car count on an average night should hopefully be around 15 to 18 cars," he said. "There'll be some stout competition so I'm really looking forward to being competitive with some great cars and drivers."

Sprint car racing is continuing to grow in the Carolinas and this series is helping a lot with that. The series is solely 305ci winged sprint cars built on being more cost effective, which allows more drivers to be a part of the series.

"Things have just gotten so expensive lately," Vardell said. "But these cars are really competitive."
