Vermilion County Speedway's DIRTcar Summer Nationals, DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals Events Rained Out

Both series return to action Wednesday at Kentuckys Florence Speedway

DANVILLE, Ill. - July 7, 2015 - Rain in central Illinois has knocked out tonight's DIRTcar Summer Nationals and DIRTcar Summit Modified Nationals events at Vermilion County Speedway. The two series are back in action on Wednesday night at Florence Speedway in Union, Ky.

The DIRTcar Summer Nationals championship is down to its final four nights - Florence, Macon (Ill.) Speedway on Thursday, Farmer City (Ill.) Speedway on Friday and Oakshade Raceway in Wauseon, Ohio, on Saturday.

The DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals will join the late models for the rest of this week but extends its season two more nights, July 24-25 at Fairbury American Legion Speedway during the World of Outlaws Late Model Series' Prairie Dirt Classic weekend.

Bobby Pierce continues to lead the DIRTcar Summer Nationals championship, ahead by 40 points over Billy Moyer Jr. Jason Feger, who has gained the most points over the past week, is third. Four-time champion Shannon Babb is sitting in fourth.

Mike Harrison has dominated the DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals championship in his quest for a fourth crown in five years. The series counts a driver's best eight finishes toward the title, and Harrison has won seven of the 10 events he's entered.
