Voigt Racing, Inc. out of Marine, Il is pleased to announce that they are going back full time to dirt late model racing in 2004.
This announcement comes after a somewhat successful trip out to Arizona to compete in the Early Thaw events. The trip did yield a lot of insight for the former dirt standout, and newly signed crew cheif Gator Branum.
The team feels as they formed a good solid base for a run at some regional and national big money shows. They are currently weighing options on what series, if any, to follow and exactly what kind of travel schedule they will put together. They will be running Rhyne Competition Engines, and Rocket Chassis racecars for their 2004 campaign.
They are currently on their way to Rocket to repair the chassis that was wrecked in Arizona, and if it cannot be repaired Mark has said that there will be another one on its way. "This thing has more bite, than anything I have ever been in, and I think we will stick with them", said Mark when asked about his first experience in the new Rocket. "And the engine that Joe & Matt Rhyne built us is unbelieveable, we were concerned about the extra weight of the steel Ford block but once we made a few minor changes to the car it kept getting better and better!"
So, look forward to seeing Mark and the Voigt Racing Crew at a track near you in 2004.
