Walston and Jolly take Weekend C.A.R.S. Events

The top two drivers in C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series points continue their winning ways with Jeff Walston, second in points taking the win at Paducah International Raceway on Friday and Danny Jolly, current C.A.R.S. WRS points leader taking the top honors at Mt.Vernon Raceway on Saturday.

Friday Night at Paducah International Raceway Jeff Walston #56 was once again the man to beat. After winning his heat race, Jeff took the early lead in the feature and was able to hold off a very fast Ricky Gilbert driving the #227, 604 powered machine. Gilbert who continues to get better each week, gave it all he had but fell just short to Walston and settled for second place in the C.A.R.S. WRS feature event. The top five was rounded out by Danny Jolly #U2, The #1x machine driven by Nick Lyons and the #12 driven by Kevin Poole.

On Saturday night, current C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series points leader Danny Jolly scored another big win towards his championship bid. After winning the second heat race of the night at Mt.Vernon Raceway, Jolly started on the outside of row one and after two laps of green flag racing he took the top spot from eventual second place finisher Aaron Heck, driver of the Ricks Towing #59 Rayburn. Rounding out the top five Saturday at Mt.Vernon Raceway was "The Dauminator" Zach Daum, Scott Hutchinson and Ray Emling, Jr.

This coming weekend the C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series will be participating at the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Ky on Friday, Sept 15th for a $1,200 to win and $100 to start event. Then on Sunday, September 17th the C.A.R.S. WRS will return to the Windy Hollow Speedway in Owensboro, KY for a $1,000 to win and $175 to start event.
