WARRIOR RACE CARS WINS NeSMITH CHEVROLET DLMS CHASSIS MANUFACTURERS CHALLENGE

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Warrior Race Cars, manufactured by Goddard Performance of Knoxville, TN, has won the 2008 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Chassis Manufacturers Challenge. Drivers drove Warrior chassis to five wins during the 2008 season.

National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Inductee Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN posted two NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series wins in 2008, taking victories at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS in February, and North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL in June.

Johnson will drive the Warrior “House Car” at the 4th Annual 100-lap $10,000-to-win NeSmith Chevrolet World Championship Race on December 12-13 at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL. The Warrior House Car has won two of the three previous World Championship Races with Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN driving in 2005 and 2007.

Royce Bray of Hull, GA won the NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS season opener in January at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL behind the wheel of a Warrior Race Car. Chris O’Connor of Cantonment, FL drove his Warrior to victory in March at the NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS National Touring event at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL.

Derrick Rainey of Powder Springs, GA drove his Warrior to the $10,000 top prize in the NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS Cajun Summer Nationals at Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS in August. Rainey also finished fourth in the 2008 NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS National point standings.

Scott Knowles of Lanett, AL drove his Warrior to the 2008 NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS Sunoco Race Fuels Rookie of the Year title and finished third in the 2008 NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS National point standings. Knowles will pick up a new Warrior chassis at the series Annual Awards Banquet on December 10 in Tampa, FL

Warrior Race Cars out pointed five other chassis manufacturers for the 2008 title. Warrior had 140 points, and second-place GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR had 121 points. GRT Race Cars earned the 2008 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge earlier in the year.

Mastersbilt Race Cars of Caruthersville, IN finished third with 120 points, and two series wins by Jay Blair of Angie, LA at A1 Raceway in Slidell, LA in May and Ronnie Lee Hollingsworth of Northport, AL at Columbus Speedway in June. Chip Brindle of Chatsworth, GA drove his Mastersbilt Race Car to the 2008 NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS National Championship.

Trak-Star Race Cars, manufactured by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL, finished fourth with 110 points, and two wins by Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS at Southern Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS and Mike Boland of Cuba, AL at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS in August. Jim McDuffie of Meridian, MS drove his Trak-Star to the 2008 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Championship.

TNT Race Cars of Johnson City, TN finished fifth with 99 points, as Larry Boutwell of Baker, FL drove a TNT chassis for most of the season, on his way to second-place in the 2008 NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS National point standings. C.J. Rayburn Race Cars of Whiteland, IN finished in the sixth spot with 82 points.
