Four different drivers posted ten wins in 2009 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Touring competition driving Warrior Race Cars.
National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Inductee Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN drove his Miller Brothers Coal Warrior to three wins in 2009 NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS point races, and an additional non-points race has a bonus.
“The Chattanooga Flash” visited the Winner’s Circle at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS twice, and also had 2009 series wins at Mountain Raceway Park in Maryville, TN and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, TN. Johnson is the all-time career NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS race winner with 12 victories, and the only driver to win a race in each the series’ five seasons.
Derrick Rainey of Powder Springs, GA had two NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Touring wins in 2009 and finished fourth in the National point standings driving the Hays Family Racing/Barto Enterprises Warrior.
Rainey captured wins this season at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS, and at Mountain Raceway Park. Rainey also had a series-leading five McLeod Construction Fast Time Awards in 2009.
The 2008 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Rookie of the Year Scott Knowles of Lanett, AL won a pair of NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Touring events driving the All-Star Graphics Warrior. Knowles picked-up the Alabama Bonus Bucks with wins at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL and East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL.
Knowles also won the 2009 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region Championship driving a Warrior Race Car.
Doug Horton of Bruceton Mills, WV drove the Adams Used Auto Parts Warrior to a pair of NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Touring victories at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL during February Speedweeks competition.
