A cool evening greeted the throngs of visitors to the high banks of Central Missouri Speedway as Pepsi Race Night kicked into high gear. The weather may have been cool, but the action on the track was hot.

The 'Mighty' Modifieds rolled onto the track and at the hit of the throttle Sedalia's Terry Schultz powered his mount into turn one in the top spot with Mark Dotson applying pressure. The pair battled for the position at every point on the track, but also had company in the form of Dave Meyer, Tim Karrick, and Bobby Layne who were duking it out right behind them and waiting for one of the leaders to make a mistake. The field was slowed on lap five for the stalled machine of Charlie Ebert and when the field powered away again the fight quickly resumed right where it left off with Schultz still able to hold off the pack behind him thirsty for his spot. Once again the pack was slowed on lap eight as contact was made between the lapped car of CJ Phillips and Jimmy Dowell that sent Dowell spinning to the infield. Just as the race resumed Dotson made a run on Schultz for the lead and was able to power past and into the top spot. One lap later Schultz was relegated back another position as Meyer moved past to take over the runner up spot. The red flag waved on lap eleven as CJ Phillips took a scary ride in turns three and four with his machine flipping wildly up and over the banking before coming to a rest. Phillips climbed from the car shaken and sore, but was able to walk away under his own power. With the field going green once again Dotson opened up a slight advantage on Meyer who had his hands full of Schultz, Bobby Layne and Karrick who were running two and three wide behind him. By lap sixteen Dotson had opened up a three car length gap back to Meyer and was able to hold him off for the final four laps to claim yet another win on the 2004 season. Meyer held on to claim second with Schultz, Bobby Layne, and Karrick rounding out the top five. Four heat races were contested with Schultz, Dotson, Karrick, and Meyer claiming those wins.

The always tough Limited Late Model division took to the track and for the second week in a row Jim Wilson looked strong as he motored to the head of the field at the drop of the green. Wilson, looking for his first win, had his hands full holding off Shawn Williams for the first two circuits until the yellow flew for the spun machine of Ryan Lovercamp in turn two. An attempted restart was negated as Steve Elwell made contact with the back stretch tire barrier and came to a stop. Elwell was fine, but was done for the night as he took the slow ride back to his pits on the hook. Underway once again, Wilson opened up a slight advantage on Williams who was beginning to receive some heavy pressure from point leader Kevin Coyne as he attempted to work his way to the front. Wilson's time at the front would come to an end on lap four as he made a great save coming off of four to keep his machine from spinning, but it was just enough to allow Williams and Coyne to zip past and take over the top two positions. Once out front the two drivers began to wage war for the front spot, but Williams had his car working to perfection and opened up a straight away lead as the field completed the twelfth lap of the fifteen lap affair. As the checkered flag flew Williams raced across the line for an emotional victory as this was his first win since being involved in a wild crash on the backstretch several weeks ago. Coyne held on for second with Wilson, Daren Rapp, and Mike Brockert completing the top five. Williams and Wilson also looked strong earlier as they motored to the front of their heat races to take those wins.

The Street Stock Division rolled out and when the dust had settled a new face would find his way to Winner's Circle as Wayne Stevens held off the tough field for his first win. Stevens moved his machine into the top spot from his pole position, but Warrensburg's Marc Carter had taken over the position as one lap was completed. Unfortunately, that was the only amount of time that Carter would find himself at the front as contact between he and Stevens in turn two sent the point leader spinning and relegated him to the rear of the field. With the green flag being displayed once again Stevens had his hands full as Oak Grove's Cole Wimmer began apply the pressure and even pulled alongside the leader, but just couldn't complete the move for the position. The yellow flew on lap eight for the stalled machine of Darren Shore who also had a small fire under the rear end. Track crews were quickly on the scene to extinguish the fire, but Shore was done for the evening. The waving green flag was quickly replaced by the yellow once again as John Ebert and Brett Cayer came together on the backstretch sending both cars spinning. After moving back up to the eight spot Carter attempted to squeeze though the melee, but unfortunately just clipped one of the disabled mount which resulted in damage that would send the point leader pitside. Once the track was cleared the field took the green with Stevens still out front and opening up an eight car length advantage on Wimmer by lap eleven. Lap twelve saw Bryant Moyer move past Wimmer in the second position, but there just wasn't enough time to catch Stevens as he opened the gap up to ten car lengths as the checkered flag flew. Moyer held on for second with Wimmer, Phil Wright, and Bob King rounding out the top five positions. Stevens made a night of it as he also took home his heat win as did Wimmer and Carter.
