(Batesville, AR) Wendell Wallace Autosports competed in the three O’Reilly
MARS Series sanctioned events this weekend. Friday night’s show was ran at
Batesville Speedway outside of Batesville, AR, Saturday night’s feature was
at West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO, and the Sunday night show
was at Monett Speedway in Monett, MO. All three races paid $3,000 to the
winner.
Wendell had a strong run in his J&J Steel / MSE Distributing #88 GRT “House
Car” Ford Taurus on his home track of Batesville Speedway on Friday night.
He was battling among the leaders the whole race, but had to settle for a
solid third place finish. At West Plains the next evening, Wendell once
again found himself at the front of the pack only to get shuffled around on
the last restart. He and the team had to settle for disappointing eighth
place finish at the track where he won last year’s ‘Show-Me 100.’
The team was looking to for a solid run to cap off the weekend, but did not
find it Sunday night at Monett. Once again, Wendell found himself at the
front, but bad luck again found the #88 team. A flat tire was the source of
bad luck this time and sent Wendell into the pits looking for new rubber.
He battled his way back from the tail of the field to end up in the 11th
place position. Wendell is currently in the fifth place position in the
yearlong O’Reilly MARS Series points standings.
Wendell and his team will be back in action tomorrow night, April 16, for a
rare midweek event at the Fast Track Motorplex in Chatham, LA. This is a
$3,000 to win unsanctioned event that Wendell just added to his schedule.
