(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Wendell Wallace Autosports made the haul this past weekend to Meridian, MS for the annual $15,000 to win Fall Classic 100 at Queen City Speedway. Unfortunately, things did not go well for the #88 team during their stay in Meridian. The MSE Distributing / J&J Steel #88 GRT / Craft Ford Taurus was involved in a heat race incident on Friday night that badly damaged the front end of the machine. The team decided to forego the consolation event on Saturday and headed back to Batesville with a wrecked racecar in the top of their transporter.

“The Meridian trip didn’t go very well for us,” said Joe Garrison, owner and founder of GRT Race Cars. “We got in a wreck and tore up the front end pretty good. It got the rack and some front suspension pieces. We decided it wasn’t worth starting in the back of the consolation race on Saturday and taking the chance of getting torn up again, so we headed on home.”

Wendell Wallace Autosports is undecided if they will make another appearance during the 2003 racing season. They are currently fixing the car that was damaged at Meridian this past weekend and will make a decision soon about their upcoming racing schedule. As soon as Wendell makes a decision, it will be on www.wendellwallace.com.
