What did eveybody think of the New concessions , at Bell-Clair

Good lord. They had one week to prepare. It's not the end of the world. It will get better!

The line did ****, I went across the street for food because of it. But look at the crowd, it was way bigger than I expected.

Give 'em an inch and they'll take a mile.

After the races were over, the guys were walking around giving away free Kabobs, and I thought they were awesome. Good job on the food, after all it is a racetrack!!

Good to see the racing season has started...night one and the boards are full of complainers. BC is 100 times better than it was before the new management took over...I'm sure the food problem will be taken care of the same way as past issues.

Btw, kudos on the text update for those of us who couldn't make it. Great idea!

It was my first time at this track so here are my observations as a Rookie. We got to the pay window around 6:30 and they only had 1 window open, but the line moved pretty fast and we were in before the hot laps started. We decided to sit on the start finish line so we could see all of the action. After we scoped out the perfect seating location it was time to climb up into the bleachers which is pretty hard for a person with little short legs, but we made it safe & sound. Hot laps started and you could immediately see what great racing the night was going to hold! We were having an awesome night with the smell of racing fuel and the flying dirt until until the red flag came out so we decided it was time to go try out this new awesome food that the track has been advertising. The line was HUGE, but we were going to stick it out since we were starving, but as soon as they fired the cars up we got out of line so we wouldn't miss any racing. After the heats, dashes, & semis were over we decided to make that trek down those huge bleachers again to stand in line with hopes that we could get something to eat. We waited in line during the whole intermission and were told they were out of hot dogs & cheeseburgers, but by the time we finally made it to the window they had just made a new batch. I ordered a hot dog, a pork kabob, & 3 waters and the prices were a little pricey, but I was starving so at that point I didn't care.( I have to tell you that was the BEST pork kabob I have ever had!) I knew it was the first time for these concessions and knew that they had to work the bugs out so I gave them the benefit of a doubt. We made it back to our seats just as they were firing up the motors to start the feature and the racing did not dissapoint! That Late Model Feature was the best race I have ever seen! I was a little disappointed that the Official didn't throw the yellow flag when the car was slow on the track and ran into the leader, but they did the right thing and gave him his spot back. If you didn't see the race you sure missed a great piece of driving the way Weaver had to weave his way around the lap traffic going 3 wide and sliding in sideways to take the checkered flag! The 1 complaint that I have is that the speakers in the stand don't work and you couldn't hear what they were saying when the talked to the Drivers. We stayed and watched all of the features and they were all equally good. All in all it was a good night of racing and I would definately come back and reccommend that if you ever get a chance to go there it is worth your time and money.

We are very lucky to have food, drink and good racing. Do you know there are people in third world countries who dont even have sheet metal ? Lmao

I am no genius but i have found that when you really appreciate the good things we have like good and sufficient food and drink that delays and standing in line dont really seem like a big deal.

Lets all thank god for the great food drink and racing that he has given us. Thanks to ALL hard working people who prepare our food and for our race promoters.

One suggestion, why not have soda machines with 20 oz bottles of soda and water. Hell, charge $2.00 if needed to make the same profit as fountain soda. I wanted a soda, but wasn't going to miss the racing to get one. Additionally, dirt gets in the fountain soda. Get the bottles with lids like I-55.

Also, does it make sense to have a separate beer line, drink/snack line, and one or two food lines? That would prevent the people just wanting popcorn and a soda from having to wait. Just a suggestion.

I think they should just ad a restaurant above turn 2 bleachers, and then have a beer stand and a soda, popcorn, and candy stand, lol. Just give them time and then you people will be complaining the lines are to fast and you had to get the old lady another thing of nachos. At mid season if its still the same then complain

I wasnt there so I have nothing to complain about. But it sounds like we need to give these guys a chance to prove themselves before we start bashing them. No one could have predicted the huge turnout that was at BC friday night. Just give them a chance, they deserve that much after stepping up to take over for the last group that was in there.

I would say from a fans point of view the food was great the racing was great and it was over early even after they had to do repairs to the wall. from a racers point of view i think i added 3% more left side weight from the Kabobs thats my take on the night I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH EVERYTHING!!

Thanks Belleville for being open in 2012 and having races. Unlike alot of tracks in the country.

I'm going on Sat.but I'm smart enough to eat beforehand...I guess patience and race fans don't go together anymore. :0

It was the first night for a crew that had a week to prepare. It is hard to gauge a crowd without previous data to go by. I used to manage two of the stands at the Grizzlies. I know that I was far more efficient after I had four years of data in my notebook (how much to cook vs. attendance vs. temperature). Give them a few weeks. It will get better.

As far as the red flag goes: no concession worker would have had enough food prepped for a fifth or more of the total attendance hitting the stand in a half hour period. They were probably just starting to prep for intermission. If you have too much prepped food in reserve than you end up serving cold food (that makes everyone unhappy). It is harder than you thing to manage a crowd like that.

Personally, I sat on the backstretch and walked to the front to get food. Yes I had to wait in line, but the shrimp were amazing (and I did appreciate shrimp and artichoke being available on Friday for us Catholics).

I'm willing to give them a leeway on getting it right. It will probably take a half season or more before they get the system down perfect. Service will speed up, the food is already great. I'm happy.

Good Job Guys!

This was well said about the situation they had. If you are new to that environment you have no way of knowing what to expect. They had no knowledge of what to expect so they did the best they could with what they had. Besides the crowd was bigger than I would have expected. You can't be prepared for that either on your first night.

It sounds like they went a few steps above what they should have and got people pleased with the food (free water and kabobs).

I am sure that a few weeks of work there will give them time to works things out. First night are normally hard to figure out what to prepare for.

Sounds like most people like the food they got to eat and that will be a plus for the track.
Yes and the racing was very good.

I thought the food was incredible. Yes, the lines were very long, but on the front stretch we at least received an apology for the long wait. Once we got our food, the quality far outweighed the time it took. It is very nice to see that Vegetarians can actually eat something decent besides nachos at a concession stand. I had grilled corn and a baked potato and it was the best food I have ever received from a sporting event concession.

Having been behind the scenes in the food and beverage industry, I know there is no way to predict what the first night will be like. Especially on a day when a rainout seemed inevitable.
