What Go’s Around has Come Around!!!

Here’s the deal!

TCS owners and management are a custom to having things go their way, and are not use to being told no….because MONEY TALKS!!! UMP and Stan we thank you and support your decision to follow the bylaws and governing rules set forth by Dirt/UMP (No tracks within 50 mile on the same night) You made the right call…no UMP for TCS!!!

For those on this forum always say Kevin would never do anything to hurt the racing community…his decisions have been all about the bottom line. Cutting the sportsman was all about $$$$, when the CARS Late Models were added, one class had to be cut. When looking at the number of cars, pit passes, and pit gate revenues…sportsmen had the smaller car count against the other classes. The Sportsman class was eliminated for that reason.

Some day I hope to drive by TCS and see a FOR SALE sign or Wal-Mart

The old saying What Go’s Around…Comes Around!!!

Has come around!

i Don't Understand Either Why He Cut The Sportsman...seems Kind Of Funny, They Always Brought A Good Car Count With Them....so Now Your Running 2 Classes Of Late Models< Normal And Crate....why Not Combine Them 2 And Add The Sportsman Back To Your Race Night?

Eagle Eye, You Wrong About The Sportsman Car Count. They Had The Highest Car Average I Do Believe. Making Cutting Them An Even Bigger Bitter Pill To Swallow.

i think we will wait and see but really what is the attraction a lil better awards at the end of the year maybe, payoff is the same for the regular shows which there is less of them mods get paid a lil better whoopee

Hmmm...

I'm thinking you are going to be disappointed.. In more ways than one!

To bad this has turned into a political deal...... basically.... I guess it will come out sooner or later.... But Ill let ump handle it.... LOL thats funny..... (itll make sense soon enough)

Just to let you know, In April of 2006 we contacted UMP/Dirt Motorsports
about TCS moving to Friday night's for the 2007 season. This was done after
finding out that Godfrey Speedway had been sold and would be closing. At that time we we're told that the move to Friday's would be OK. This is not
an issue that just started, but one that had been in the works for the
better part of 11 months. We had asked about this move so that we could speak with our sponsors, drivers and fans to let them know what was taking place in 2007.

No the Sportsman we're not the highest average car count at TCS.

They we're replaced by the C.A.R.S. Series for the reason that this series
is an affordable class of the future. This move was not about dollars but
it was about making an affordable class for our weekly racers.

Sorry to inform you as long as I am around TCS WILL always be a racetrack
and not a Wal-Mart, Home Depot or Walgreen's as you may predict!

Do you really think we would be doing all of the upgrading if we plan on selling
TCS anytime soon?

By the way why is everyone so concerned on what we are doing? Other than the fact that we ARE building a premier facility to make the racing and the surroundings better for our drivers, fans and sponsors!!

If we are UMP that will be fine and if not that will be fine also. Fact of the matter is we will race on Friday night's and we will bring the best shows possible to our facility!

I wish Stan, Belle Clair Speedway and all of the drivers the best in the 2007 season!

Thank You,
Kevin Gundaker

P.S. There is a For Sale Sign out front for a 1978 4 door Buick!!

SORRY, I WAS WRONG ABOUT THE SPORTSMAN? I WAS THERE 90% OF THE NIGHTS AND THOUGHT THE COUNT WAS THE BEST ON AVERAGE.

On certain nights they had more cars im sure, but normally the counts were about the same as the mods and street stocks.

I think Kevin is a great owner/promoter for TCS. Mel @ MCS should take some notes on how to run a track. It really is a shame after last years fiasco about MCS lawsuit. Mel needs to update his website for the 2007 season. No one knew about a playday until someone put on this forum that playday for 3-18 was cancelled for weather????

it still ****s that they dropped sportsmans i was really looking forward to running the new track well i guess its off to highland ....... but i will still be at tc to watch

Thanks for the info. Kevin...

Classy move by posting accurate info.

Looking forward to making the drive up to visit your facility for all the open wheel shows...

Hey Bud,,this Is Lenny Garson Here, not Hiding Behind Some Screen Name...first Off Why Would You Wish That Tri City Would Close,be Offered For Sale Or Turned Into A Wally World? I Am Not Happy Regarding The Loss Of The Sportsman "but" There Are Still A Lot Of Racers That Need A Place To Race,to Enjoy Their Sport, one Friday Night Track Cant Provide That, two Can...also This Is Kevens Track To Run How He Sees Fit..if You Dont Agree On How A Track Is Run And What Classes It Runs Then Go Some Where Else Or Stay Home...

I want to wish the best of luck to Kevin and Tammy. I think there building a nice first class facility. I just hope they learn from this and stop trying to build there empire at the cost of tracks and racers in the region.

Did you not just read Kevin's post? They're are trying to build an "empire" and wipe out all the other smaller tracks, They're trying to build a facility to accommodate the bigger shows and make the weekly grind more enjoyable for everyone in the stands and the pits!

P.S. and when I say "grind" I dont mean it in a bad way

There is a difference...

The difference being OWNING at track and RACING at a track. I worked for G & G Motorsports for a year and a half. When Bobby sold the track, he told me that he wanted to sell it to someone who had the same passion he had for racing. Bobby had offers from developers who wanted to build houses on the property and could have gotten more money for it that G & G Motorsports paid for it. Why didn't he? Simple, the passion he has for racing.
G & G Motorsports has what it takes to transform TCS into a premier racing facility, something this area needs badly. With G & G Motorsports decisions to eliminate the Sportsman class and bring in the CRATE class, it more than likely was a "dammed if we do, dammed if we don't" situation for them. If it dosen't work out, who says they won't drop the CRATE class and bring back Sportsman? It was a business decision! If G & G Motorsports thought they could run every class at TCS and pack the stands, make a profit, they'd do it! But you can't do everything all the time. As a business person, you to have to pick and choose! During the time I worked at TCS, I saw the turnout in the stands on a regular racing night. You take away those who came with the cars and drivers and you had very few "real fans"! And I applaud those "real fans" who came each and every Sunday night. Look, TCS is owned and operated by people who love racing and want to do what they think is right for themselves as a business and for the fans of racing as well. It's called a BUSINESS and with business comes COMPETITION and they both cost money to make money! For Gordon, Tammy and Kevin, GO FOR IT! I look forward to the day when this area has a track that supercedes Eldora! But hey, that's just me!

George
