What kind of economic impact does a dirt track have on a community?

Drive by where Godfrey speedway used to be. Gas station is gone. big resteraunt across the street gone. Several small businesses gone. It hurt that area when it closed not to mention the concrete plant that was put there and now sits idle.

Since the track in Arizona put $ 10.1 million into the the region someone make an Educated guess about how much I-55 Raceway would put into the region over a years time

Isnt Cocapah owned by Indians that also own casinos right there? That probably helps those numbers quite a bit. Business does pick up on saturdays here in Herculaneum and Pevely though.

And I guess that is with only 9 race dates a year?? at least that is what is on their schedule for this year.

Probably alot comes from the winter races, because they only had 56 cars on there regular show on there web. And also anyone know how close is it other tracks around to them. Because around here fans and racers have so many options to go. Makes a difference. Jmo

they have more the 9 race's look at the results they have weekly shows but also take into account it looks like they have a good Kart program that helps to..not sure how pevely kart track is doing but I-55 has brought money into pevely and herky i just dont know if its 10.1 million
