What would you do?

To be honest posting is a waste of time any more other then making Jimmy D a few dollars, Gundaker does read and reply and he has his cr@p together and dont need any advise on how or what to do since I think he probly the best in the country, Allied/Marler well.....just dont seem to catch on and schrader with his back ground should of been setting the example for the rest to follow but he just could care less and I can see I-55 going down hill each year...it sure isnt the same as it was 15 years ago thats for sure

what has made I 55 so bad

what has made I 55 so bad

55 isnt bad and I apologize for it sounding like i made it out to be...I've spent a ton of money at Belleville,st charles and at I-55 on pit passes, food, and multiple race cars over the last 40 years and i feel as I should be able to voice my say on racing...its just isnt as good as it should be, there should be A lot more Super Late models,I wanted to see the sportsman and street stocks come together and i could go on and on but it doesnt do any good. I just want 55 to be the best or at least keep up with Tri City

car counts are what they are take alot bucks for super you should know that the big difference is off the track and lets leave it that and ty 57 years at the tracks a probably 40 years of spending money

1) Make shows quick, concise and fun. This includes prompt start times, but also short intermissions, tight rule enforcement, down-time entertainment.
2) Make it interactive. Develop an iPhone/Android application that includes driver biographies, statistics, photos, videos. In the future find a way to turn transponders into real-time displays.
3) Open the pit area to the general admission crowd, a la NASCAR. During qualifying and practice sessions, designate an area where fans can go and mingle with drivers before they get in their car.

Yes, these are far flung and probably high-cost ideas, but it's a new time right now. Everybody expects more.

I love the ideas of special admission nights (i.e. military, over 65, Albers Day). I also think the ability for children to access the sport on a different level would help matters. Nothing would motivate me more than my son saying: "Dad I want to go to the races."

My two cents.

Any student that makes the Honor Roll for the entire school year, should get a free pass for the following racing season. Also,a Boy/Girl Scout Night would be a good idea. The girls could sell cookies and the boys could work some of concesssion stands and earn 10% of the proceeds for their activities. They could also do a "Scouting for Food" drive. How about a 50/50 for 12 and under? They could get pool passes, movie tickets, gift cards, etc. One more,"Take a Racer to School Day",kind of like Show&Tell. I will keep thinking...LOL!

Tri city has a scout night cause I've bought a lot of candy bars from the boys lol. Like the 50/50 for the kids and take a drive to school. How cool would that be to see your favorite driver show up to hang for a lil while! Great ideas biker

Make the shows quicker, there have been quite a few times when our family and friends have come to watch just to support us and towards the end of the night we go back up into the stands and its just our wives there because they had to leave to get home at a decent hour in the morning (its hard to get some to comeback after this happens a few times). Have a good announcer, everytime we went to Belleville and I-55 the Talker Guy always had somthing to say that was entertaining or informative especially in the downtime. Speed up cautions and lineups alot of this has to do with the drivers also.

"School Supply Night"

Fans that bring $10 worth of School Supplies, get $2 off their admission or voucher for a Free Sandwich at the Concession Stand...I need your help with the details!..THX!... This "Night" should be in Late July or Early August, right before School starts...We all know that kids and teachers are struggling to get supplies,so we can do this,correct???...:D

I think tracks around here should take a look at the way Bob Sargent runs PIR. Races starts at 7:00 PM not 7:05 or 7:19 or what ever and your in your car headed home at 10:00 PM
He doesn't keeping sending the crew out to fix the track. It is what it is live with it.

When we ran Kankakee last year the winning car and driver were REQUIRED to go around to the back of the main grandstands and to do a meet and greet with the fans. This was done immediately after their victory lane photo and interview. Seemed to be well received by the fans, they talked to the driver and took photos with him and the car and everything.

The promoter was very clear in the driver's meeting..."if you don't go, you won't be paid....My fans are the most important people here and we WILL make them happy before they leave"

They do something like this at Clarksville too. Or they used to.

Just thought it was cool.
