who do you think is the hotest driver in this area right now

Dave Sheppard has been winning alot at St. Francois County Raceway he won like 5 straight features. I think he won the last one before the 4th of July break as well. Anyways....he's been on fire!!
dave has done good this year and he was at tri-city 7-3-09 on 3 year old tires and won his heat race and finshes 9th in the main not to bad I think

Bert Jacoby is awesome! If he had the money or could spend the money like the others he would blow them all away! He has the talent and the guts! Just needs the equipment!

But I am partial to my hubby!

:)

I think they should pull pans off once in a while, like they used to. Thats y I55 gets 35 sportsman, and highland gets 16 - 18. They are not worth watchin at highland anymore

Cut back to 3 classes of cars.LM,Mods, and FWD before costs go any higher and local curfews become more of a problem. JMHO:)

Your wrong... I55 gets 35 sportsman for two reasons it's a nice track and they don't have a pure stock class, if they did they wouldn't get that many. Highland has been averaging more than 20 this year.

Good point. I-55 does have 4 distinctly different classes.
As far as Farmer City, it is hard to call Erb & Feger regulars when they have been chasing money all over the midwest for at least the last 2 years. Doesn't Weaver travel too? I am not knocking Farmer City, love going there. Just not sure on some drivers being called regulars.
Dennis Erb 20th in points
Jason Feger 22nd
Kevin Weaver 53rd
They still have a darn good field of Late Models though.

I think that all tracks around the stl is hard to win at in a modified all track have guys that can win

Every track has guys that can win. Alot of the guys that race weekly at Highland or other local tracks couldn't do as well if they came to I-55. I-55 has many really great drivers there on a consistent basis making it the toughest competition locally in my opinion.

I agree totally. I have never been to Farmer City but the Competition at pevely is much higher than many other tracks in my opinion. Not to take anything away from any driver or track because there are good drivers at other tracks too, but if you take some of the consistant winners at any other track and put them on pevely, I don't see them winning as much. I also agree with Jimmymac on local or not. As far as I am concerned, a local driver races week after week at a local track.

i would say either babb korte melvin and chad kinder when he races

so what you are telling me is that drivers that win at highland, tri-city, bellville, sfcr, the rock, can not win at i 55 or can't even run with the greats at i55. There are some good cars and drivers there but i think that there are as good of cars and drivers at other tracks that could run with the guys at i55 and win.

I don't think they couldn't win at I-55, I just think the number of top tier drivers at Pevely is higher than the other local tracks. In the Modified division anyway. JMO

here is just what i see i dont wanna knock anybody.hammerle was in the top 5 in ump points last time i checked.hes amazing at some of the smaller tracks.BUT at pevely not so great im not even sure ive seen him when he does show up finish top 5.not saying anything bad about him by no means so don't flip out on me.just the way i see it the bar at pevely is just a touch higher than anywhere around.friday most drivers are spread out among many nice tracks.but come saturday pevely is ground zero for top area drivers.

Perfectly said!!!

Other than Mike Harrision who can come to pevely and win in the modified class. Ah..........no one. Even Bielong and both smiths dont finish high when they come down. Not bashing anyone but its the truth. Its rare for even Leka or swartz and a number of other big dogs to show up and win.

Jimmy Cummins looks strong wherever he runs.Always near the top .Also Dennis Ponder is having a great year, and runs in the front alot also.
I would have to second that vote! They seem to have found something out. If not in front, they will sure make a race of it at the end. I wonder how many other drivers have won aSportsman Feature this year at Belleville, and Pure Stock Feature WINNERS.

What is Mark Voigt then ? Swiss Cheese. The man has had an awsome year so far

nothing against mark at all are any other drivers.but what has he or most the others done when at pevely on a packed sat night?i mean korte, laycock, manville, shirley sumtimes, collinz, dixon
and some others i can't think of have had that track on lock down for quite awhile.could he come to pevely and win 2 out of 3 mabey.could most of these guys go to highland or wherever he does race and win 2 out of 3?id bet on it you can win alot in small markets but to get on my list you have to at least run with the big dogs half the time to to be considered as a hot or top driver.i know anybody can win anywhere anytime in this sport but you put korte in a mod or lm startn mid pack right now at any track in a 4 or 5 states region that double 00 will be posted top 5 come the end.

not taking anything away from any driver in the region by no means they are all amazing at what they do week in and week out.but if they wanna get theyr name out there and put a stamp on what they can do pevely is the place come saturday night.

these results where copied from another post
