Why doesn't SFCR.......

Just curious as to why SFCR doesn't have a BIG show for the Winged Sprints. Seeing how they are the premiere class. I am sure if there was $10,000 to win show they could pull a lot of drivers in from all over the midwest.

Just my guess, but I'm sure coming up with the $$$ to fill a $10,000 to win purse without the bottom falling out of it after the winner's share, which is what draws cars, is probably no easy task to come up with. I'm sure alot of tracks would love to have a big race that would draw drivers from all around and fill the stands too but coming up with the funding is most often the problem.

They have a $5000 to win Queen's Royale in October.... It used to be a two day show.. but has gotten smaller over the years and cut back to one day.

When you only have one track running sprints as a weekly show, car counts suffer. Look at the late Models those guys have a lot of tracks to run at and the car count is better in those classes because of it.

I hope that one day Jacksonville starts running sprints again,,, car counts were better back then.

He actually tried that a couple years back, but didn't work. May of had something to do with scheduling the race against every traveling series known to man leaving only the locals to support the thing. I know alot of the racers weren't very happy about the entry fee either. The purse was cut back to almost half because of the low car count.

I would like to see Jacksonville, Granite City or Lake of Ozarks have a big 410 show on Friday before the Queens Royale. Alot of the guys from Indiana and Ohio have said they can't justify traveling this far for one race. I know Granite has started having a big Midget show that weekend, but it would be great to see them add Sprints to the list too. Two races that close would be beneficial for both tracks.

Would they be able to do a Friday night prelude to Pevely's spring Outlaw show? That would be 2 Big shows in a row. They could follow it up Sunday at Shepp's. Although that race has been rained 2 years in a row

In my opinion Farmington doesn't have the seating to accommodate the kind of crowd you would need to help pay the purse. I would think you would need to be able to seat about 4000 or 5000 to put on a show for that much.

I heard that Farmington considered picking up the flooded-out World of Outlaws race at Pevely last year, but declined because they did not have enough time to bring in the portable bleachers and make other improvements that would have been needed to host that large of a show.

It's been awhile since I have been to Farmington but they have ALWAYS put on a GREAT sprint show ..... And I-55 could not move as quickly without all the push trucks from Farmington during the sprint shows... Those people do an AWESOME job keeping the cars rolling !!!
