Why was 70 McClintock DQ'd last night at TCS?

Rules say stock cast OEM intake so if it was a bus intake but stock i dont know why the issue. No mention of height in the rules either. Anyone have better info?

We don't allow any of the taller intakes, (Bus or Truck). He also told me that
it came from Brezinski!

Kevin, Has the noise got to your ears ? I said that was a stock intake off a truck at salvage yard and you knew you had other cars with brzenski intakes lets take them off and weigh them like your rules say. your rules state stock o.e.m. intake no porting, machining or acid porting. there is nothing in rules about no bus or tall intakes. your tech guy checked the car and carb 3 weeks ago and said it was fine. how can you check carb and not see intake? after reading the rules again there is nothing in there about tall or bus intakes. the motor in stock location and has been checked 4 times nowand that intake has been on there everytime. The motor was ok everytime. If i thought the intake was illegal i would have never put it on. Marc

There is almost 6lbs difference in some cast iron intakes depending on the year the old ones are heavier
 
My car has a tall intake..... rules say stock cast oem how do i get "we dont allow tall intakes" from that? Sounds like a bad deal...........
 
Wow i had to look up brezinski to see exactly what it was....... please tell me guys are paying that kind of money in a class paying less than $200 to win weekly.......
 
If it's a bone stock chevy two barrel intake I don't have a problem with it regardless of height. If it has ANY machine work whatsoever than it should be illegal. JMO.
 
We had an issue with this exact thing at the rules meeting, but thats why we go to rules meetings. I agree it should be in black and white, but Kevin did cover this not being allowed in the meeting.

and yes Kris people are paying this kind of money for this stuff around here. Its completely out of hand and really getting old.
 
Sounds like they are spending money in the wrong places!brezinski stuff is to much for so little gain, good handling cars better then horsepower.
 
Bworley has it right a fast car is fast because of what it does in the center of the corner off........ brezinski didnt seem like much gain for the money....
 
We dynoed these intakes when I raced in North Carolina and depending on camshaft the brezinski and the tall intake usually hurt dyno numbers so Marc might just get faster!
 
They used to run them big Rochesters off the Trucks and Buses,too...;)..I agree with Adam!..BONE-STOCK from the Salvage Yard!..:)
