Phenix City, Alabama (07/10/12) - William Thomas piloted his #22 Zaxby's Extreme Power Sports/Scorpion Late Model to back-to-back wins with the NeSmith Late Model Series over the weekend.

Proud new Father, William Thomas, returned to action on Wednesday evening and came away with his fifth win of the season as he topped the $2,5000-to-win, NeSmith Late Model Series event at East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Alabama). After registering the fastest lap of the thirty-one entries on hand in qualifications, William earned the pole starting position for the 50 lap feature with Thomas Lewis joining him on the front row. As the feature went green Thomas bolted to the lead, and despite a few challenges during the course of the feature he went on to claim the victory over Mathew Turner, Chase Edge, Montana Dudley, and Joey Thomas.

Another night and another town but the same result as William Thomas rolled to the $2,000 win with the NeSmith Late Model Series at Penton Raceway (Penton, Alabama) on Friday night. Twenty-nine competitors entered the event, and Thomas found himself once again setting fast time in qualifications to earn the pole position for the 40 lap feature. He was joined on the front row by Chris Cantrell in what would prove to be an eventful feature. William paced the first half of the event before being collected in a crash by a lap car on lap 23. He would be reinstated as the leader with minimal damage and would go on to score his sixth win of the season, which came over Tod Darda, Chase Edge, Mathew Turner, and Chris Cantrell.

The second leg of a NeSmith Late Model Series doubleheader was held on Friday night at Penton Raceway (Penton, Alabama) as a $2,500-to-win event was held under threatening skies. Twenty-two drivers were on hand for the program, and after qualifying fifth fastest William locked into the fifth starting spot for the feature, which was originally slated for 50 laps. As the race went green Thomas quickly worked his way forward and was into the second spot by lap four. He would begin pursuing the leader, Mathew Turner, as the duo entered lapped traffic. Lap 17 would see a lap car take out not only Turner and Thomas, but also the balance of the top four. Thomas would receive minimal damage and was able to retain his runner-up spot for the restart. As the race surpassed its halfway point rain began to fall on the oval, and on lap 30 the event was ended by officials. Turner picked up the win with Thomas registering a second place finish.

William traveled to Albany Motor Speedway (Albany, Georgia) on Saturday night for the final leg of a four-race weekend. The NeSmith Late Model Series sanctioned a $2,500-to-win event, and twenty-two drivers entered the program. After qualifying second fastest he earned the second starting spot for the 50 lap feature with Kelly Walker joining him on the front row. After seeing the initial start nixed by a multi-car tangle, Thomas grabbed the lead on the second attempt to get the race underway. He held down the lead until lap 3 when David Earl Gentry slipped past for the top spot. Three laps later Thomas would slow with a flat tire. After a trip to the pits he rejoined the tail of the field, and despite his engine only running on seven cylinders, due to a bad spark plug, William recovered to record a second place finish behind race winner, Larry Harrod.
