Inside Line Promotions - WEST FARGO, N.D. (Aug. 22, 2018) - Greg Wilson maneuvered to his second-best result of the season with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series last Saturday during the Duel in the Dakotas hosted by Red River Valley Speedway.

Wilson opened the event by qualifying 22nd quickest before advancing from eighth to fifth place during a heat race in his Hercules Tires, DNC Hydraulics, Ohio Logistics and Gear Alloy Wheels sponsored sprint car. That locked him into the 13th starting position for the A Main.

"We had a good car in the heat race to move forward and lock ourselves into the main event and we continued with that momentum in the feature," he said. "The track slicked off and we were really good on the bottom. I think with the right timed caution we could have contended for the win. We needed a caution with about 10 laps to go and then to have a long run, but it was great to make so much progress."

Wilson charged from 13th to a fourth-place finish, which was his third top five of the season.

The weekend began the previous night at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D., during the 2nd Leg of the Northern Tour. Wilson timed in 20th quickest before maneuvering from seventh to third place in a heat race. He started eighth in the A Main and was running inside the top 10 when we he was caught up in an incident.

"We were able to get back out on the track and finish the race, but we were pretty beat up," he said. "We were really good before that happened so I think we were on pace for at least a top 10. It was frustrating to finish 17th when we had a top-10 car, but we're very excited about the improvement we continue to make."

Wilson will return to action this Friday at Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, S.D., for the Rushmore Outlaw Showdown and Saturday at Big Sky Speedway in Billings, Mont., for the NAPA Auto Parts & Visit Billings presents the Big Sky Brawl at Big Sky Speedway with the World of Outlaws.

"We continue to improve and build momentum so we can't wait until the next opportunity to race," he said. "We're also excited to get to see our fans in South Dakota and Montana."
