By Brian Dunlap WoO LMS Public Relations Portsmouth, Ohio (August 26, 2004) The World of Outlaws will return once again to Portsmouth Raceway Park on Sunday September 5th. After their two-day show at Atomic Speedway in Oak Ridge, TN the WoO Dirty Dozen will make the trip to Portsmouth, OH for Portsmouth Raceway Park’s annual Labor Day late model event. The event sponsored this year by Pepsi, carries a rich thirteen-year history and coincides with the town’s 42nd annual Labor Day Weekend “River Days Festival.” The “Pepsi 75” will feature the top drivers in the country competing on Portsmouth Raceway Park’s fast 3/8 mile clay oval for the lead share of the $42,000 purse, a check for $10,000.

Portsmouth Raceway Park promoter, Max Warnock is looking forward to the return of the WoO Dirty Dozen. “The Dirty Dozen along with our terrific local competition put on an excellent show with great racing and allot of passing when they were here in July, and we’re excited to be able to bring them back once again,” remarked Warnock. “The Dirty Dozen are the most exciting dirt track racers in the country and are a credit to the sport.”

The series driver with the most feature wins, Dale McDowell in the #17M Larry Shaw Race Cars / S&H Motorsports / Dover Cylinder Head / Racetek / Petroff Towing / J&J Steel / New Vision Graphics / Rocket Chassis Pontiac Grand Prix already owns one win at Portsmouth Raceway Park this season, having won night one of the series’ first visit to the track. McDowell currently sits fourth in series points, and will bank on his previous experience at the track as well as his recent win in Lernerville, PA to try to pull off yet another win.

Scott Bloomquist has also had luck in Portsmouth, having driven his #0 Miller Brothers Coal / Hawkeye Trucking / Custom Race Engines / All-Star Performance / Hoosier Tire / Sweet Manufacturing Ford Taurus into victory lane on the second night of the series’ first visit to the track. Bloomquist currently sits in third place in series points, but is still a serious contender for the championship as less then 50 points separates him from the number one spot. Another win at Portsmouth would definitely aid in his efforts to chase down the series championship.

Joining Bloomquist and McDowell in the return to the track are WoO Late Model Series Dirty Dozen drivers:
