World of Outlaws Head to Missouri State Fair Speedway

The World of Outlaws return to Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia on Wednesday, June 20 for the first time since 2005. The series first raced at the half-mile in 1978 and has competed at the track a total of 19 times, with 12 different drivers picking up victories.

Donny Schatz, the reigning World of Outlaws champion won at the track in 2003. He currently leads the series points on the strength of seven A-Feature wins and 29 Top-10 finishes in 32 events. He is tied for the series lead with four Crane Cam Dash wins that has earned him the same number of pole positions. He finished fifth last Saturday night at Knoxville Raceway, despite suffering significant damage to his front wing.

Joey Saldana heads to Missouri State Fair Speedway after a very strong run at Knoxville. He lined up 23rd for the 25-lap event and worked his way to a sixth-place finish to earn the KSE Race Products Hard Charger Award. The native of Brownsburg, Indiana is second in championship points and is tied with Schatz for the series lead in wins, with seven. Saldana, the 1996 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year with the World of Outlaws has 26 Top-10 finishes this season as he continues to chase his first series title.

Danny Lasoski has won at Sedalia three times with the World of Outlaws: 1999, 2001 and 2002. The native of Dover, Missouri has been instrumental in the success of the event at the track, which is just an hour from his home. For the last 10 years has served as a benefit to the Michael Ross Memorial Foundation, and is held in conjunction with the Michel Ross Memorial Foundation Golf Tournament, which will be held on Tuesday, June 19. Lasoski enters the event third in points, with three wins and 24 Top-10 finishes on the season.

Daryn Pittman heads to the half-mile fourth in points. He has two wins on the campaign to go along with 22 Top-10 finishes. The native of Owasso, Oklahoma is tied for the series lead with four wins in the Crane Cam Dash to earn the same number of pole positions in A-Feature competition.

Jason Meyers won in the series last race at the half-mile. He began that night by setting fast time and went on to lead the final 14 laps of the 25-lap A-Feature. The native of Clovis, California is in the midst of a seven-race streak of Top-10 finishes. He won in the series first visit of the season to Missouri on May 11 at U.S. 36 Raceway. Entering this week, Meyers is fifth in championship points with two wins and 22 Top-10 finishes.

Steve Kinser is the winningest driver with the World of Outlaws at Missouri State Fair Speedway having picked up four checkered flags. His last win at the half-mile came in 2004. The 20-time series champion has six wins on the season as he heads to the Show-Me State, and is sixth in points with 19 Top-10 finishes.

Craig Dollansky heads to Sedalia fresh off a third-place finish at Knoxville Raceway on Saturday night. It was his 20th Top-10 finish of the season, as he finds himself solidly in the seventh spot in points. The native of Elk River, Minnesota won in the series last event in Missouri on May 12 at Lake Ozark Speedway.

Paul McMahan won his first career World of Outlaws A-Feature event at Missouri State Fair Speedway on March 23, 2001. In the World of Outlaws last visit to the track in 2005, he finished second. The California native who now calls Nashville home is currently eighth in points on the strength of 15 Top-10 finishes, including his first win of the season on June 3 at Eldora Speedway, which is owned by his car owner, NASCAR star Tony Stewart.

Jason Solwold continues to close in on his first World of Outlaws A-Feature win. The native of Mt. Vernon, Washington is ninth in points with 17 Top-10 finishes. He has set fast time twice this season in time trials, and also has a Crane Cams Dash win to his credit.

Jac Haudenschild heads to Sedalia 10th in points. He has 13 Top-10 finishes on the season including five Top-Fives finishes. He earned a season-best second-place finish on June 9 in the Eagle Nationals at Eagle Raceway in Nebraska.

Tim Shaffer earned his 14th Top-10 finish of the season on Saturday night at Knoxville Raceway. The 1999 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year has eight Top-Five finishes including three second-place finishes as he continues to close in on his first win of the season.

Terry McCarl heads to the half-mile with plenty of momentum. After winning on Saturday night at Knoxville Raceway, he backed that up with a victory in weekly competition at Huset’s Speedway in South Dakota, where he is the winningest driver in the history of the track. The native of Altoona, Iowa has 14 Top-10 finishes on the season.

Jason Sides won at State Fair Speedway last season. The native of Bartlett, Tennessee has 11 Top-10 finishes this season, with four of those being in the Top-Five, including a second-place effort at New Egypt Speedway in New Jersey last month.

Randy Hannagan nearly won at Knoxville on Saturday night, leading the first 18 laps of the event before earning a season-best second-place finish. The 1995 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year has three Top-10 finishes on the season as he continues to climb in the point standings.

Kerry Madsen, the current leader in the battle for the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award has competed at Missouri State Fair Speedway a number of times in his career. The native of St. Mary’s, NSW, Australia won his first career World of Outlaws A-Feature event on the second night of the season during the Florida DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park.

Justin Henderson competed in 2005 with the World of Outlaws in their last visit to the track. The native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota earned his seventh Top-10 finish of the season on Saturday night at Knoxville.

Chad Kemenah, the reigning Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year will make his first visit to Sedalia on Wednesday, June 20. The native of Findlay, Ohio currently has six Top-10 finishes on the season.

Jeremy Campbell continues his second full-season with the World of Outlaws and is solidly in the Top-20 in points. He has three Top-10 finishes on the season, along with a Top-Five at Tri-State (Ind.) Speedway earlier this season.

A pair of rookies round out the Top-20 in points, with Chad Hillier of Washington, 19th and Zach Chappell of Oklahoma 20th. Each has one Top-10 finish on the season.

Other rookie contenders that will be in competing at Missouri State Fair Speedway include Tony Bruce Jr. of Kansas and Sam Hafertepe Jr. of Texas.

Also in action at Missouri State Fair Speedway will be: veteran Dion Hindi of New Mexico, second-year driver Jason Martin of Kansas, Brooke Tatnell of Australia, and Brian Carlson of Indiana, who is returning after missing over a month or racing with a leg injury.
