Yes that's right, the top guns of American sprintcar racing are coming down under!!
Parramatta City Raceway (PCR), Australia's premier sprintcar track, in Sydney is without question the home of Sprintcar racing in the southern hemisphere "We are thrilled to be bringing the World of Outlaws series to Australia and Parramatta City Raceway," said series founder and World of Outlaws CEO Ted Johnson. "This definitely progresses our series into a truly international championship. Australians drivers have raced with the World of Outlaws for many years and this is a logical and exciting progression for the Outlaws organisation."
The arrangement sees PCR host the World of Outlaws for a three-night show on the 8th, 9th and 10th of January 2004. With more than $300,000 (Australian) on offer during the three nights of action – this will obviously make this event the richest Sprintcar event ever staged in the Southern Hemisphere.
More than 15 American drivers on the World of Outlaws roster will journey down to Sydney Australia to contest the event. It is expected that a fully televised coverage beamed into the USA of this event will take place as well.
Crazy Horses Motorsport Tours will be conducting a package tour to coincide with this event.
