(Paducah, KY) The earth shaking 950 plus horsepower World of Outlaw Sprint cars will highlight a schedule full of star power as Paducah International Raceway has scheduled 36 nights of racing action that will cover Motorsports from all areas of the racing world.

The 2007 season will kick off with an indoor car show at the Traders Mall Flea Market Saturday February 24 and continuing on Sunday, February 25. Drivers will be showing off their rides for the 2007 season including the PIR 2-seat Late Model.

Practice nights for the drivers to shake down their set-ups will be held on Friday, March 9 from 6-10pm and Saturday March 17 from 12 to 4pm. Divisions racing at PIR will include UMP Late Model, Modifieds, and Street Stocks, C.A.R.S. Crate Late Models, Outlaw Mini-Sprints, and The wild 4-cylinder Warriors.

Opening night and the first night for official points will be Friday, March 23. Pit gates will open for each race event at 4pm with spectator gates opening at 5pm. Admission for weekly events will be the same as 2006 with Adults $10 and kids 12 and under free. Special races will vary in admission pricing. The popular Faster Pastor races will return to PIR on Friday, March 30. Last year 16 Pastors took to the 1/5th mile track at PIR with several people getting into a racecar for the very first time. All drivers came home safely; the same could not be said for some of the racecars.

The World of Outlaw sprint cars series will be making their first trip to the region in five years to tackle the high banks of Paducah International Raceway. Known for speed and power, the World of Outlaw sprints will welcome back 20 time World of Outlaw Champion Steve Kinser and Danny “ the Dude” Lasoski. Kinser, a threat at any track across the country will be taking on several of the top drivers in the country including 2006 World of Outlaw Champion Donnie Schatz, Craig Dollansky (who tested at PIR last season turning several laps in the mid-12 second range), and Daryn Pittman just to name a few. The World of Outlaws will be at PIR on Friday, April 6. Reserved tickets will go on sale soon. Watch for more information on ticket sales in the near future.

The month of May will be busy with the first of three NASCAR Nights to be held on Thursday, May 3. Dale Earnhardt Jr., Ken Schrader, Tony Stewart, and Kenny Wallace all made multiple appearances at PIR last season. Also appearing were Martin Truex Jr., Carl Edwards, Mark McFarland and Radio and TV personality Matt Yocum. Who will be the next NASCAR driver or drivers to visit PIR? May 5and 6 will see the return of the AMA Southeast Amateur Nationals for flat track motorcycles. Over 200 racers from across the country will take their two-wheeled machines to the track at PIR. Chamber Night will take place on May 11th followed by the Undy 500 on May 18th and once again PIR will pay tribute to the men and women of the Armed Forces on Friday May 25.

June 1st will kick off the Tri-Track Challenge for late models including the Northern All Star Late Models. The Tri-Track Challenge boasts three different tracks on three consecutive nights with a $10,000 dollar bonus to any driver that can win 2 of the 3 nights of racing. The show will bring the best Late Model drivers in the country to McCracken County. June 15 will be a special night at PIR as we welcome the legends of Paducah International Raceway. Former USA World 50 winners, past track champions and fan favorites will be invited back to PIR for a reunion that is sure to bring back a story or two. On Friday June 22nd the Miss PIR finals will reveal which young lady will represent PIR throughout the year at different events. The UMP Summer Nationals will finish up the month of June on Thursday the 28th. Randy Korte will defend his Summer National title against the best that UMP has to offer.

July will serve up a full menu of events at PIR including Driver appreciation night on the 6th that will conclude with fireworks for the fans. July13 will showcase the return of the wolfpack challenge for UMP Modifieds. Relay for life will be the featured charity with the wolfpack challenge. Pet night and wiener dog races will take place on July 20 with our four-legged friends taking to the track for a race to find out which wiener dog will be the quickest pooch in Kentucky. Harley-Davidsons will show off as they have their bike show at PIR on Friday, July 27 only to be followed on the 28 and 29 by a championship rodeo. Man against beast will thrill everyone as the Rodeo comes to PIR.

August will have 3 of the biggest shows to date at PIR with the first appearance ever of the Midwest Sprint Series on August 3rd. The Midwest Sprint Series, owned by former driver Tom Helfrich, will take to the high-banks of PIR without a wing. NASCAR Night III on Tuesday, August 21 and the USA World 50 on Friday, August 24 will set the pace for excitement at PIR. NASCAR Drivers will meet and greet race fans to be followed three days later by one of the most prestigious racing events anywhere in the country in the form of the USA World 50. A beer belly contest and bed races will also take place in August. September will include a Late Model Special, the ATV Nationals, and the Season Championships on September 28, 2007. Still tentatively planned are a concert and Monster Trucks.

NASCAR Stars Dale Earnhardt Jr, Ken Schrader and Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Paducah International Raceway in November of 2005. Two-time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart joined the trio of Co-Owners as a partner in September of 2006. The 3/8th mile high banked oval will host several high profile events including three NASCAR Nights, The USA World 50, and the Tri-Track Challenge. Paducah International Raceway races every Friday night and is located off Interstate-24 at exit 11 in Paducah, Kentucky.
