WHAT
•After a thrilling weekend of racing that began at the legendary Eldora Speedway on Friday night with Joey Saldana picking up his seventh win of the season and concluded with Donny Schatz winning his series best 11th A-Feature on Saturday night at K-C Raceway, the Mean 15 will take to another storied track at the famed Knoxville Raceway to compete in the 46th annual Knoxville Nationals. Four days of intense action are in store at the historic half-mile beginning on Wednesday.

WHEN

•The schedule of events at Knoxville includes:



•On Wednesday and Thursday, the Midway open at 11 a.m., with the infield opening at 2 p.m. Hot laps are set for 6:30 p.m., and time trials at 7:15 p.m.



• On Friday the Midway will open at 11 a.m., with the infield opening at 2 p.m. The track “roll in” is set for 6:30 p.m., and non-qualifiers hot laps will be at 7:30 p.m.



• On Saturday the Midway will open at 11 a.m., with the infield opening at 2 p.m. The track “roll in” is set for 6:30 p.m., with hot laps for the E-Main and D-Main at 7:30 p.m.

• Highlights: Donny Schatz picked up his series leading 11th win of the season on Saturday night at K-C Raceway in Ohio. It was the second straight win at the high-banked 3/8-mile for the native of Fargo, North Dakota. … Joey Saldana picked up his seventh win of the year last Friday night at Eldora Speedway. It was his second win of the season at the track including his $50,000 triumph in the Kings Royal. The race marked the World of Outlaws Sprint Series first visit at the track in well over 20 years. … Daryn Pittman continued his strong season with two more top-five finishes last week. He was fifth at Butler, and fourth at K-C Raceway. … Brooke Tatnell celebrated his first week of the married life by picking up back-to-back fourth place runs in the state of Ohio. He also set fast time at Butler. … Jac Haudenschild set fast time at K-C on Saturday night. He also brought home top-10 finishes in all three series events last week. … Chad Kemenah continues to lead the chase for the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award Presented by Maxim Racing and ButlerBuilt. Last Friday he picked up his second straight top-five at Eldora. … Jeremy Campbell is second in rookie points and eighth overall. He returned to his home track, Butler Speedway last Wednesday and after a tough start to the night that saw him qualify fifth and just miss a transfer spot in his heat, he won the B-Main and worked his way to 6th in the A-Feature. … Justin Henderson continued his strong run of qualifying efforts by turning in the third fastest lap at K-C Raceway. … As Terry McCarl prepares for the Knoxville Nationals, he will put on the promoter’s hat for the Front Row Challenge at Southern Iowa Speedway on Monday. … Randy Hannagan was fast at Butler, as he qualified fourth and finished third in the dash. … Dion Hindi is 12th in World of Outlaws Sprint Series points. … Becca Anderson had a very strong last week, as she brought home two consecutive top-10 finishes at Butler and Eldora. She also qualified in the top-five for both of those races as well. … Brian Carlson is 14th in championship points. … Jason Martin turned in the fifth quickest qualifying time at K-C Raceway, and earned a spot in the dash. He has two solid top-12 finishes last week as well.

• The World of Outlaws Sprint Series will visit the Dakotas for a pair of races next weekend. On August 17, the Mean 15 will thunder into Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, South Dakota, followed by their maiden voyage to Nodak Speedway in Minot, North Dakota on August 19. A trip to the scenic Northwest is then in store on August 25-26 as the series rolls into Skagit Speedway in Alger, Washington.
