QUOTABLE

Billy Moyer, driver of the No. 21 J&J Steel/Banner Valley Hauling/McCarthy’s One Hour Cooling and Heating C.J. Rayburn Race Cars/Pro Power Racing Chevrolet Monte Carlo

On racing at the four Midwestern tracks of Farley Speedway, Eagle Raceway, Dakota State Fair Speedway and Deer Creek Speedway: “Up in the Midwest area where I grew up those tracks are all pretty familiar. The Deer Creek track I’ve never been to. But, the Huron track is a good old flat half-mile kinda like a lot of the Iowa tracks. I think we’ve raced there twice before. We’re looking forward to going up in there to what I guess you would call my neck of the woods.”

Clint Smith, driver of the No. 44 JP Drilling/CSR Aluminum/Turkey Creek Snacks GRT Race Cars/Racetek Racing Engines Chevrolet Monte Carlo

On racing at the four Midwestern tracks of Farley Speedway, Eagle Raceway, Dakota State Fair Speedway and Deer Creek Speedway: “I’ve been to Nebraska and I’ve been to the Iowa track and I know both of them are totally opposite of each other. I don’t know anything about the other two tracks we’re going to so I’m a newcomer. But, I’ve won two this year at tracks I’ve never seen so maybe that’ll be a good omen for me.”

Rick Eckert, driver of the No. 24 Raye Vest Excavating/J&J Steel Rocket Chassis/Cornett Racing Engines Ford Taurus

On racing at the four Midwestern tracks of Farley Speedway, Eagle Raceway, Dakota State Fair Speedway and Deer Creek Speedway: “We’re looking forward to it. That Minnesota track we’ve never been to but I hear it’s a great place. The other three are good places to run as well. We’ve been pretty decent at Farley, Eagle and Huron. We haven’t won an Outlaws race at those places but I think we’ll have a good shot. We’ve been close this year.”

Darrell Lanigan, driver of the No. 29 Gotta Race/Bert Transmission Rocket Chassis/Cornett Racing Engines Ford Taurus
On racing at the four Midwestern tracks of Farley Speedway, Eagle Raceway, Dakota State Fair Speedway and Deer Creek Speedway: “I’ve been to a couple of ‘em. I run pretty good out that way. The tracks are bigger and seem to suit my style. I think we will be all right out there.”

Tim McCreadie, driver of the No. 39 Sweetners Plus/A & C Speedworld,Inc. Rocket Chassis/C.C. Performance Engines Chevrolet Monte Carlo

On racing at the four Midwestern tracks of Farley Speedway, Eagle Raceway, Dakota State Fair Speedway and Deer Creek Speedway: “The Farley track is a big, fast half-mile that’s a,lot of fun to race on. Same thing at Eagle. It’s smaller but the racing is close which is good. The other two tracks I’ve never been to but I’m looking forward to it.”

Chub Frank, driver of the No. 1* Lester Buildings/All Star Performance/Corry Rubber Rocket Chassis/Custom Racing Engines Chevrolet Monte Carlo

On racing at the four Midwestern tracks of Farley Speedway, Eagle Raceway, Dakota State Fair Speedway and Deer Creek Speedway: “We’ve been to Farley and Eagle. Those are the only two places we’ve been to. Farley, we’ve run pretty good there. We went there a couple years ago with the Renegade deal and ran there last year with the Outlaws and ran third both times. Nebraska, that track was pretty racy. We didn’t qualify very good and started 15th or 16th and ending up running top 5 so the tracks pretty racy. The other two places I’ve just heard storys about ‘em. I couldn’t tell you anything about ‘em.”

Josh Richards, “Rookie of the Year” driver of the No. 1 Seubert Calf Ranches/A-C-E Metal Works Rocket Chassis/Cornett Racing Engines Chevrolet Monte Carlo

On racing at the four Midwestern tracks of Farley Speedway, Eagle Raceway, Dakota State Fair Speedway and Deer Creek Speedway: “Farley. I’ve been there but have never raced there. The other tracks I’ve never been to. I’m ready to go. We’re gonna use the car we’ve been racing for those races because its really been working well. So, we should be good to go.”

Dale McDowell, driver of the No. 17M Larry Shaw Race Cars/J&J Steel/New Vision Graphics Rocket Chassis/Racetek Racing Engines Pontiac Grand Prix
On racing at the four Midwestern tracks of Farley Speedway, Eagle Raceway, Dakota State Fair Speedway and Deer Creek Speedway: “We were at Farley last year and I think we had a decent finish. And, I’ve won at the other two places (Eagle Raceway and Dakota State Fair Speedway). I’ve haven’t been to Deer Creek. All those facilities, with the exception of Deer Creek because I haven’t heard anything about the place, are racy. Any place we go where the track and the track surface allow us to race it’s a challenge to everyones program. You have to make the right calls at the right time and be positioned in the right heat and everything. That’s what makes it really challenging for the competitiors and really good for the race fans. We look forward to going to all those tracks.”

Steve Francis, driver of the No. 15 MOPAR Performance Parts/Valvoline Rocket Chassis/Gary Stanton Racing Engines Dodge Intrepid R/T
On racing at the four Midwestern tracks of Farley Speedway, Eagle Raceway, Dakota State Fair Speedway and Deer Creek Speedway: “I’ve been lucky enough to have won at Eagle and I’ve won at Dakota. I’ve never been to the Minnesota race track. Farley, seems like everytime I go there I end up in a crash or something like that. I’m really not looking forward to that one. But, there’s a lot of good race car drivers out in that area and its kinda nice to go out there. It’s a different area out there.”

Dan Schlieper, driver of the Miller Bros. Coal Co./Hawkeye Trucking No. 9 C.J. Rayburn Race Cars/Pro Power Racing Chevrolet Monte Carlo

On racing at the four Midwestern tracks of Farley Speedway, Eagle Raceway, Dakota State Fair Speedway and Deer Creek Speedway: “Farley, I seem to run pretty decent there. Eagle, I’ve done pretty well there too. Dakota State Fair it’s a little bit different race track. But, I seem to remember we ran pretty decent last time we were there. Deer Creek, I’ve never been there and don’t know anything about it. We’ll just have to wait and see at all four tracks what type of weather we have and racing surface we get.”

John Blankenship, driver of the No. 23 Busch Beer/Walker CAT Rocket Chassis/Custom Racing Engines Ford Taurus

On racing at the four Midwestern tracks of Farley Speedway, Eagle Raceway, Dakota State Fair Speedway and Deer Creek Speedway: “Two the tracks (Farley and Eagle) are familiar but the other two I’ve never seen. So, we’ll just do the best we can. Actually we will be out on the road for the next month. We’re not going back to our shop. We’re just gonna try and keep our equipment together and see how it goes.”

NOTEABLE
Scott Bloomquist, driver of the No. 0 Miller Bros. Coal Co./Hawkeye Trucking Bloomquist Chassis/Custom Racing Engines Ford Mustang

The defending World Of Outlaws Stacker 2® Late Model Series champion will be returning to the four-race swing through the Midwest after a weekend (5/20-5/21) he would rather forget. Bloomquist lost two engines during the May 20th event at Brushcreek (OH) Motorsports Complex. An all night drive back to his Mooresburg,TN shop for new powerplants was followed by mechanical problems with the tow rig on the way to the May 21st event at Tri-State (IN) Speedway resulting in Bloomquist missing the event.

According to a Bllomquist Racing team member in a Monday (5/23) telephone conversation, “We lost those two motors at Brushcreek and came back home to get some more for Tri-State. We would’ve made it but the rig broke down and we simply ran out of time. We’re just working like crazy getting everything prepared for the Midwest swing.”

Shane Clanton, driver of the No. 25 SAE Parts/RSDEnterprises,Inc. Rocket Chassis/Custom Racing Engines Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Clanton has been MIA for the past three events after surgery May 9th to repair damage to his left shoulder. Clanton suffered a dislocation of the left shoulder Friday, April 29th during the running of the “ Advance Auto Parts Showdown at Sarvertown 50” held at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver,PA. Contact during a restart jerked the steering wheel resulting in Clanton’s shoulder popping out of place. Clanton tried to put the shoulder back in place but was taken to an area hospital for further treatment and released shortly after. The injury wasn’t anything new for Clanton. He first injured the shoulder playing tight end and defensive end on his high school football team and had problems with the shoulder dislocating since that time.

Clanton hopes to be able to rejoin the “Dirty Dozen” when the Series begins the four-race Midwest swing.

“I hate having to miss these races,” said Clanton. “I want to get back as soon as I can but the surgeon says that if I go back too quick and damage it more it could be 3 to 6 months before I could get back. Hopefully, by the time the Outlaws get back at it after this weekend I’ll be ready to go. But, we’ll just have to see.”

Clanton was to return to the surgeon May 24th for a check-up and hopefully clearance to return to racing with the World Of Outlaws Stacker 2® Late Model Series.

UPCOMING EVENTS
After the four race Midwest swing, the “Dirty Dozen” band of travelers will take a weekend off before heading into the recently announced $20,000 to win “Veterans Appreciation 100” to be held Friday, June 17th and Saturday, June 18th at KC Raceway near Chillicothe,OH.
