By Brian Dunlap WoO LMS Public Relations Tunica, MS ( October 26, 2004) Who will be crowned the World of Outlaws (WoO) Late Model Series Champion? Only Tunica will tell as WoO Late Model fans all over the country hold their breath in anticipation of the outcome of this action-packed season. The WoO Late Model Series and the famous Dirty Dozen return to the track for one final sanctioned weekend of racing October 29th and 30th at Tunica, Mississippi’s Delta Bowl Speedway. The Trick or Treat Classic two-day event, sponsored by Hoosier Tire and Larry Shaw Race Cars, will be the largest ever hosted by the track.

Delta Bowl Speedway, in only its second year of operation, is quickly building a reputation as one of the state’s premier race tracks. Delta Bowl Speedway is a high-banked, 1/3 mile, gumbo oval, that when paired against the top late model drivers in the country will deliver an unmatched racing experience.

The Trick or Treat Classic will kick off Friday night with a full night of racing, featuring hot laps, heat races and an edge-of-your-seat 30 lap $5,000 to-win main event. The racing will resume on Saturday, as the winning payout will increase to $15,000 and the feature length to 50 laps. Saturday will also be the deciding night for the WoO Late Model Series championship, as it is the last sanctioned race of the season for the Dirty Dozen with only a few points separating the top six drivers.

To say that there’s a lot riding on the Delta Bowl event for the Dirty Dozen is a major understatement. Currently only a mere three points separate Steve Francis in the #15 Valvoline / Mopar / Freeport Recycle Center / Action Auto Mart / Rocket Chassis Dodge Intrepid from the WoO Late Model Series points leader Scott Bloomquist in the #0 Miller Brothers Coal / Hawkeye Trucking / Custom Race Engines / Allstar Performance / Hoosier Tire / Sweet Manufacturing Ford Taurus. With such a close points’ race and the high level of competition, the series championship is likely to come down to the last lap on Saturday night. Delta Bowl fans will have an incredible experience as they witness history in the making when inaugural season of the WoO Late Model Series comes to its end and the 2004 championship is decided.

“We’re very excited and looking forward to hosting the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Dirty Dozen,” said race promoter Howard Mea. “Coupled with the casinos in the area, it will make it a fun weekend for race fans.”

“The local competitors are looking forward to the race as well,” continued Mea. “Drivers like John Pafford, Jimmy Holland, Terry Henson and our points champion Jamie Dacus, will all be on-hand to challenge the Dirty Dozen.”

Three-time track feature winner and 2004 track champion Jamie Dacus is looking forward to testing the Dirty Dozen in his #15 OH Hendricks Sheet Metal / RPM / GRT Monte Carlo. “The Dirty Dozen are some of the best drivers in the country and we’re looking forward running with them on our home track, hopefully we will have something for them,” said Dacus.

After 43 nights of racing, the series will celebrate the end of its inaugural season on Sunday, October 31st during the WoO Late Model Series Annual Banquet at Sam’s Town Hotel in Tunica, MS. During the banquet, awards for the WoO Late Model Series Champion, Rookie of the Year and Crew Chief of the Year will be given, along with recognition of the 2004 Dirty Dozen.
