Xdcs Awards Banquet Set For December 5 In Indianapolis

MOORESVILLE, NC - The 2003 Xtreme DirtCar Series Awards Banquet will be held on December 5 at 7 p.m. in the Radisson City Center Hotel at 3 West Ohio Street in Indianapolis, IN. Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN will be honored for his unprecedented fifth XDCS Championship. Bloomquist will receive the lion's share of the $286,000 point fund.

The nine other drivers in the top ten of the XDCS point standings will also be honored, including Matt Miller of Waterville, OH who will receive the $10,000 Lucas Oil Rookie of the Year Award.

Second through tenth respectively in the XDCS point standings are Brian Birkhofer of Muscatine, IA, Jimmy Mars of Elk Mound, WI, Rick Eckert of York, PA, Steve Francis of Ashland, KY, Dale McDowell of Rossville, GA, Earl Pearson Jr., of Jacksonville, FL, Dan Schlieper of Pewaukee, WI, Donnie Moran of Dresden, OH, and Miller.

In addition to the $60,000 points fund cash prize, Bloomquist will also receive a Champion's Ring, and a special Xtreme Commemorative Award.

Other special awards to be received will be the Chassis Manufacturer Award, the Engine Builder Championship Award, the Advance Auto Parts Hard Charger, The Most Laps Led Award, and the Ringers Gloves Chris Francis Memorial Crew Chief of the Year Award.

Rocket Chassis will receive their fourth consecutive XDCS Chassis Manufacturers Challenge title. Pro Power Racing Engines will receive its first Engine Builders Challenge championship. Schlieper will receive the Advance Auto Parts Hard Charger Award, and Bloomquist gets the Most Laps Led Award.

The Crew Chief of the Year Award is named in memory of its 2001 recipient, the late Chris Francis, who was the crew chief for his brother Steve Francis. Chris Francis died unexpectedly in August of 2001. The 2003 winner will be announced at the banquet and the award will be presented by Chris Francis' widow Rhonda Francis.

XDCS President Doug Bland will deliver The State of the Series address, and the series will also make several announcements concerning the 2004 XDCS season.

how can this group give a prize to a man that was picked up for drugs this is a disgrace to the racing program they should not give it to him but to someone else this sticks like **** hope you guys are blacked balled by other race track and grups
