XDCS NOTEBOOK: ATOMIC RICH IN SERIES HISTORY; HARTFORD, OH HOST HOTEL; LAVONIA PREVIEW; ROME TICKETS ON SALE

MOORESVILLE, NC - The next event for the Xtreme DirtCar Series will be the $20,000-to-win 13th Annual Fox 43/Advance Auto Parts 100 at Atomic Speedway in Knoxville, TN on August 30-31. This event is the second longest running event in series history, only to the Xtreme Shootout at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA.

Four-time series champion and current point leader Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN is a four-time winner of the race (2001-2000-1998-1996). Bloomquist will be going for his 100th series career win, and his 11th of the season. Bloomquist holds a 180-point lead over Brian Birkhofer of Muscatine, IA in the XDCS points chase.

Skip Arp of Georgetown, TN is the defending and two-time champion of the race (2002-1995). Arp, a former Atomic Speedway track champion, has one XDCS win this season coming at North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, GA.

The 1999 series champion Dale McDowell of Rossville, GA won the race in 1993, and will return to Atomic Speedway in search of his third win of the season. McDowell is currently seventh in XDCS points.

The 1999 race winner, Marshall Green of Dalton, GA is another expected entrant in the Fox 43/Advance Auto Parts 100, along with 1992 race winner Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN. Other former race winners were 1997 series champion Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR in 1997, the late Jack Boggs in 1991, and the inaugural race winner was Gary Hall of Knoxville, TN in 1990.

There are three other XDCS top ten drivers that have won at Atomic Speedway in the past in other events. Defending and two-time series champion Rick Eckert of York, PA is currently fifth in series points, and has two Atomic series wins.

Donnie Moran of Dresden, OH is eighth in series points, and has a 2000 series win at Atomic. Dan Schlieper of Pewaukee, WI is one of the hottest drivers on the tour, and he also has a 2000 Atomic series win. In the last five series events, Schlieper has two wins, four top five finishes, and five top ten finishes.

Other drivers with series career wins at Atomic Speedway are Wendell Wallace of Batesville, AR with three, and Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC has one win.

HOLIDAY INN METROPLEX OFFICIAL HOST HOTEL FOR HARTFORD, OH RACE: The Holiday Inn Metroplex in Youngstown, OH will be the Xtreme DirtCar Series Official Host Hotel for the Sharon Speedway event in Hartford, OH on September 2.

The Holiday Inn Metroplex will be offering XDCS fans and competitors a special discount rate of $79.99 for XDCS fans and competitors. To make reservations call the Holiday Inn Metroplex at 1-888-447-0606 and ask for the Sharon Speedway discount rate.

LAVONIA EVENT TO BE CALLED 9/11 XTREME NATIONALS TO HONOR FIREMEN: The
Xtreme DirtCar Series 50-lap $10,000-to-win event at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, GA on September 11 will be called the 9/11 Xtreme Nationals in memory of those who tragically lost their lives on that date in 2001.

According to race organizers, proceeds from the sale of commemorative T-shirts and an auction of dirt late model memorabilia will be donated to the 9/11 Fireman's Fund.

Advance tickets are now on sale by calling 1-866-892-RACE (7223). Advance reserve seats (top seven rows) are $25 and advance general admission seats are $20. The day of the show, reserve seats will be $30 and general admission seats will be $25.

The Sleep Inn located at exit 173 on I-85 in Lavonia, GA will be the Xtreme DirtCar Series Official Host Hotel for the event. The Sleep Inn is offering XDCS fans and competitors a special discount rate of $69.95 per night. To make reservations call 706-356-2268 and ask for the Xtreme DirtCar Series special discount rate.

TICKET ON SALE FOR XDCS EVENT IN ROME, GA: For a limited time, fans can save up to 25 percent on Xtreme DirtCar Series event tickets by purchasing them now. Advance general admission grandstand seats for the 100-lap $20,000-to-win Xtreme DirtCar Series race scheduled for Rome Speedway in Rome, GA on Sept. 19-20 are only $35 per person for the entire 2 day show.

Advance General admission seats for the 14th annual $55,000 to win Hardees Xtreme Shootout at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA on Oct. 10-11 are only $40 for rows 6-10 and also include both days. Reserved seats for top rows 1-5 are also available for this race.

Tickets can be charged by phone for either one, or both events with their Visa/MasterCard by calling (770) 926-5315 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. They are also available for purchase at each track on regularly scheduled race nights during the next few weeks. Tickets purchased at the gate on race days will be priced higher for both shows.
