MOORESVILLE, NC - Xtreme DirtCar Series officials have made several announcements concerning the 2003 SPEED Channel television schedule, the schedule of events, and contingency sponsors.

SPEED CHANNEL STILL COMMITTED TO XDCS: The 2003 television agreement between the Xtreme DirtCar Series and SPEED Channel remains in effect and on schedule despite some recently announced programming changes made by the network.

"We have announced that the 'Dirty Thursday' concept on SPEED Channel has been eliminated, but that will not effect our coverage or scheduling of Xtreme DirtCar Series events," SPEED Channel Director of Programming Bob Ecker said. "The network is very happy with the Xtreme DirtCar Series programs and the ratings these programs have produced. In fact, the network is working on doing even more promotion for these shows in the future."

The Xtreme DirtCar Series currently has a three-year contract with SPEED Channel to air up to 13 events each season.

XDCS SPEED CHANNEL SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENT: The Xtreme DirtCar Series event that was originally scheduled to be taped at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, OH has been moved to KC Raceway in Chillicothe, OH. The Ohio Speedweeks finale at KC on July 11 will be taped by SPEED Channel to air on July 31 at 11 p.m. ET.

GREEN VALLEY SPEEDWAY OUT AND 311 MOTOR SPEEDWAY IN ON SEPTEMBER 26-27: Xtreme DirtCar Series and 311 Motor Speedway officials have announced a date change for the two-day show at the Madison, NC track. The event will be moved to September 26 and 27.

This date recently became available when officials at Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, AL cancelled their event scheduled for that date. 311 Motor Speedway officials asked to move their show when the date became available because their original date on August 22 and 23 conflicted with the nationally televised night races at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, TN.

ARCTIC CAT SIGNS ON AS THE OFFICIAL ATV OF THE XDCS: Arctic Cat has signed on as the Official ATV of the Xtreme DirtCar Series. Arctic Cat has provided the series with three ATVs through its Dealer of the Year, Gary Molthen's Mountain Motorsports of Crossville, TN.

"We see a strong market for Arctic Cat ATVs not only with the fans, but also with the competitors of the Xtreme DirtCar Series," Molthen said. "ATVs have become an important part of the sport by letting the officials do their jobs more quickly, and the teams have found ATVs beneficial in making them more efficient in moving parts and equipment around the pit area."

BERT TRANSMISSIONS SIGNS ON AS AN XDCS CONTINGENCY SPONSOR: Bert Transmission has signed on as a Contingency Sponsor for the Xtreme DirtCar Series. Bert Transmissions will sponsor the second Consolation Race at each XDCS event, and award the race winner with a $100 Product Certificate.
