On Friday night, the series makes the first of two scheduled stops at Southern Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS. Then on Saturday night, it's on to Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, for a $2,000 to win affair.
And after breaking out of the gates quickly in the series opening pair of events, 19-year-old Bartlett, TN, racer Don Young is on top of the series point charts.
Young opened the ASCS Coastal campaign with a fourth-place run at Alabama's Deep South Speedway, then earned a fifth-place finish at Louisiana's Fast Trax Speedway to jump out to the early lead over Louisiana's Lane Whittington, who trails the Tennessee teen by just 36 points entering the weekend.
Jason Johnson topped last year's ASCS Coastal Region event at Hattiesburg's Southern Speedway, with ensuing attempts at a second series event all washed out.
The American Sprint Car Series last visited Jackson Motor Speedway in April of 2006, when Gary Wright topped a Regional feature event.
Both nights of ASCS Coastal Region action are set to get under way at 7:00 p.m.

The ASCS Coastal Region 2008 slate consists of 13 events at nine different tracks throughout Mississippi and the surrounding area including portions of Alabama, Louisiana and Florida.
The nation's most prominent Sprint Car sanctioning body with a dozen different Regions throughout the United States in addition to the O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National series, the American Sprint Car Series' (ASCS) 17th year of activity will include approximately 250 nights of racing at more than 100 different race tracks throughout 28 different states and Canada.
