Lake Hill Speedway?

Sunday's showers showed how muddy it might get for the renuion so pray for sun.
Hay KEG see if you can get that big jumbo tron tv like the one I55 & Tri City used. That will look great siting on the track infield facing the ticket booth showing old races. Just a thought.

I understand that the St. Louis Auto racing Fan Club is going to have the big screen out at the track showing lots of old movies! And there will be a souvenir program available with lots of stories and pictures and Lake Hill t-shirts plus other items.

I have mentioned before that I don't come from a racing background and this is all new to me, but I also want to mention how impressed I am with the St. Louis Auto Racing Fan Club. They have been doing a LOT of work to make things GO!

For those of you who are not member, I highly recommend joining the Fan Club. Your support will help make racing and related events happen in St. Louis and throughout the midwest.

We're Almost There

Good news! It looks like we ARE going to have a roof on the concession stand. We've had a donation of trusses, sheething and shingles that will be delivered on Friday.

So ... this Saturday and Sunday we need as many volunteers as possible to PUT ON NEW ROOF!!!! I'll bring out my air nailer, compressor, generator and enthusiasm. I hope to see you out there.

Please, please, please help. We're down to the wire and it looks like we should have one heck of an event.

One more thing

We have an opportunity to rock the lower parking lot. If you have been to the track you will have noticed that we cleared several acres to help with parking. But even though I put over 300 pounds of seed down (annual rye) the area just isn't going to work if there is any rain.

BUT ... we have been offered all the rock we need if we can just haul it about a mile. They will load it onto a truck for us and we just need to spread it onto the field. I would sure hate to have to turn away folks just because we don't have enough parking.

SO ... if anyone has a dump truck they can haul rock with, please let me know. This is a big one and could mean the difference between a BIG party and... well you know.

Beer LIcense !!!

A few months ago I met someone at the track who said they have a contact in Jefferson City that can help expedite getting a beer license. But I didn't write their name down. Hopefully that person is reading this post.

And if anyone else has any contacts to help make sure we can get the beer license in time, please call me ASAP. We surely don't want a dry day.

We have two urgent needs for this weekend.

First, we need carpenters and volunteers to help put the roof on the concession stand.

Second, they are calling for rain on Tuesday so we really need dump trucks to help haul rock this weekend to get ourselves an all-weather surface for parking. Otherwise, a lot of people will not be able to make it to the party.

Please, please. We're down to crunch time and, in addition to the above, there are lots of other things we need to finish.
Any help is most appreciated.

Hi Fred.

I will try to update you as best I can. Jerry Sifford is planning on being at the reunion. I was at the races at Pevely a few weeks ago with him. i

Lets try again-Sifford will be there. Our friend Don Workman passed away three years ago. Butch Cooley was at the track a few weeks ago and we chatted a while. I believe he will be there. Bob Minor I am not sure about or Roger Reid. I hope they can both make it. Nathan Sifford I haven't heard anything about in ages. John Pryor still races in the dirt latemodels. I think that whatever the weather throws at us we will find someplace to get together and visit, even if its in the tunnel. It's been a long time for alot of us and I can't wait to see all the old friends again.

See you there,

Marty Heutel

Lake Hill...............

I Think The Historical Society Of Park Valley Needs To Get Together And Use The Track As A Historical Site...............schrader &the Wallaces Need To Buy This To Reopen..............imagine How Exciting The Racing Would Be...............have Vintage Racing, modifieds, latemodels, newer And Older-camaro Type) Asphalt Or Dirt This Would Be A Good Investment..............why Tear It Down..........come On People, get Together And Voice Your Opinion.............to The Current Owners Of Lakehill.you Need To Hop Into A Racecar And Try It Out At The Track And See What Your Missing.............cya There:d

Donnie Klein One of the GREATEST!!!!

Donnie Klein has done more than most would hope for, He will be 70 in January and still doing a GREAT JOB!!!!!!

We had a great day at the track. As wackymac19 said, thanks to Robs Tree Service. We also got half the concession stand roof on (but we still need lots of help on Sunday.) And we have the parking lot almost rocked.

We also had lost of of help from Joe at Rolla Auto Salvage and Kyle at Summit Earthworks and Althoff Trucking and Larry Suttle and many more.

We still needs lots of help. If you can make it, come on out!
