Why don't each track go to the junk yards and get stock computers and if they someone is cheating make them put it in and race and theobvious stuff like air cleaners are supposed to be stock a lot simple stuff to look at

It's been done at some tracks but yet didn't make any difference they don't stick to it cause then they lose car count
 
Rob Shaw would be a good tech guy! I realize you said nearly impossible but he would be a good one

Yes he would for most cars but not everyone likes him so that causes other issues if they where to get someone it would need to be someone that isn't from the dirt track background so there wasn't any conflict with drivers but they won't put that much effort into this class cause most tracks don't care enough

No one likes a tech guy so that argument is irrelevant....its not the tech guys job to make everyone like him! It doesn't matter to me weather I like him or any other tech guy they have a job to do plain and simple! Its very obvious that tech is lacking in all divisions not just the pro 4's! As far as im concerned I don't care who it is as long as they are fair and do their job and dont show favoritism!
 
Only need to buy 4 or 5. There's only 10 cars showing up and at least 4 are Saturn's and 2 or 3 are cavys. I had a lot of fun in this class when it was started, then the newer cars came in and ruined it at least for me. I don't think this class will be around here very much longer if they can't get a car count.
 
Another thing killing the class is drama. This adds to it.
I've been racing this class for a long time (lifer?). I don't win. I don't get top 5's. But I have fun. I thought that was also one goal of all the classes. I believe another goal was to get people interested that will hopefully move up, and to help fund the other classes' payouts. If the class does not contribute to the upper classes' payout or is not feeding the upper classes' with cars/drivers, then the class will die as the tracks will look at the drama and determine it isn't worth it.
Everybody should just relax. Do guys cheat? Yes. Is there too much money in some cars? Yes again. But I don't care. I just want to have someone to race with, whether it's for 1st, or 10th. What's the big deal? There isn't one!
 
Payout is a big part too. Tri city and Pevely pay $100 to win and can hardly get 10 cars weekly... meanwhile Fayette County and Charleston, maybe others pay a measly $50 more and always have 20-30 cars. Or another idea, racers put in $5 or $10 to add to the purse. I sure wouldn't mind it one bit.
 
This class used to pay zero..... I think I was the first to get paid for winning and it was $40 or $50. The money sucks, but the trophy sticks around.
 
I personally don't mind the pay out but others, that's a big part of the car count going down. We should be thankful we get paid anything...for a hobby.
 
so i have read your guys posts and i can tell you guys looking at the rule book and looking at cars yes some guys do cheat.... do i think its right no,...... but how about what can we do to get more people in the stands, sure more cars on track would be great and lets get real 100 dollers for winning a race is ok but lets put time,gas money pit pass all into effect into it and your not really making much,for sure in today economy, at one point the bomber class was the starter class, lets see where that went ........ yes i have ran against shaw,eilers did i win no but i learned alot against those guys they had more knowledge that i did starting out, i used to hear and maybe accuse them of cheating when i started but look at them now and rob has a ton of knowledge about this class, ryan is still badass. and rob is coming on strong, IF YOUR SO MAD ABOUT SOMEONE CHEATING WHY DONT YOU ASK PEOPLE QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU OUT! i never cheated when i had a acura integra and some nights it was just as fast as them...... thanks alot andy jackson.

are you suggesting this class is very easy? i might be able to find you a ride since your so good. you win the feature you keep prize money and ill pay the owner 100 you loose you pay 100? wreck the car the damage is on you? sound good
 
im not saying the class is easy. Im saying cheating in this class is pretty pathetic. I honestly don't care if the class is cut or not.

Isn't the claim on pro 4's $500?
 
The class was supposed to be where you take an insurance totaled car and put a good cage in it then go racing. First came decking the heads and changing the cams. Which led to messing with the oem computers to keep the rev limiter from activating. Then locked differentials. Oh there is more but the class is out pricing itself. Anyone who says different isnt watching the car counts. Then you throw in the attitude of some of the guys. Just had a situation at brownstown where one guy isnt allowed back and the other has a two week "vacation" because of their Attitudes. If supposed to be a fun class. I witnessed one wreck couple of years ago where a guy flat out took a
Guy out and damned near killled him. Its stupid. Tracks are tired of putting up with the crap as well Now some guys are super cool. But as always takes a few bad apples to ruin the batch. Hope they have a meeting of their own and straighten it put because way things are going next year it will be a gone class and its a shame. I have seen some good races but same thing happened with the cruiser class and look where it ended

Its 600 per ump rules and ive never seen it enforced.

If you goto fayette counties facebook page its all on their about the incident. And charlie is even thinking of dropping the class for midgets due to all the crap he has had to put up with including his own family member being involved. Dont blame him. One of the nicest and hard working guys out there and was treated like that

Not a dig on anyone personally. It happened there and of someone has another opinion swing it to charlie's way. But when i ran sportsman's there at the end i was told person to person one night that our class gave them the most trouble. Between packing the track handong transponders on and yellow flags our class as a hole looked bad
And on a promoters eye was stinkin the show up. Well one year later and poof they were gone. I think the class needs a reboot. Oem cars only. No aftermarket anything Must run drive gear. If manual must run the last gear. If a car os revving too many rpms find out why and correct it. Cars are too fast anyway! Were never meant or designed as racrcars. Remember the slogan these are not racecars. These are cars you race
 
Ever think on the other side of the spectrum that the problem is it's easier to point fingers than to actually take the car off the trailer and look it over every week? Maintence, setup, and the driver is what wins these races.
