West Plains, MO (May 17, 2005) – With the days of May starting to wind down, the start of the 13th Annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Show-Me 100 at West Plains Motor Speedway is now only a week away.

Super Late Model competitors from all corners of the country will be converging on Don and Billie Gibson’s 3/8 mile, red clay oval located in West Plains, Missouri to try and add their name to a very elite list. The 2005 edition of the event will pay an earth-shattering $39,000 to win and $3,900 just to start the 100 lap affair.

Early entries indicate that this could very well be one of the most talent-laden fields ever for the first Super Late Model Mega-Event of the 2005 campaign. Early entries include a host of former champions headlined by Billy Moyer Jr. from Batesville, Arkansas and Scott Bloomquist from Mooresburg, Tennessee. Moyer and Bloomquist are the only two drivers to win the event three times. Moyer picked up the win in the 1993, 1994, and 1996 editions of the event with Bloomquist claiming the 1995 event in addition to the 2003 and 2004 titles. Freddy Smith from Seymour, Tennessee, is a two time event winner (1998 and 2001 Champion), and is also pre-entered. Other former champions, who are pre-entered include Terry Phillips from Springfield, Missouri (1999 Champion), Ray Cook from Brasstown, North Carolina (2000 Champion), and Wendell Wallace from Batesville, Arkansas (2002 Champion).

Some of the other notable entries include Rick Eckert (Pennsylvania), Dan Schlieper (Wisconsin), Scott James (Indiana), Marshall Green (Georgia), Clint Smith (Georgia), Brian Birkhofer (Iowa), Dale McDowell (Georgia), Skip Arp (Tennessee), Darren Miller (Illinois), Bill Frye (Arkansas), Steve Francis (Kentucky), Josh Richards (West Virginia), and many more great drivers from across the nation.

Action for the 13th Annual O’Reilly Show-Me 100 will get underway on Thursday, May 26th with an open practice session that will immediately be followed by a barbeque dinner. The barbeque dinner will be free with each pit pass that is purchased. The public may join the drivers at the dinner for $5. On Thursday night, the practice will be held from 7:00 to 9:30 with the barbeque dinner getting underway at 9:30.

On Friday, May 27th, the action will begin to heat up with Super Late Model Qualifications. GRT Race Cars will be presenting the fast qualifier with a $1,700 Fast Time Bonus. After qualifications are complete, a Manufacturer’s Dash for Cash will be held for the Super Late Model competitors. In addition, Lunati’s Cams will sponsor a Race of Champions for the former winners of the event. Also, Open Wheel Modifieds will compete in full program paying $500 to win, and $50 to start. On Friday, the grandstand area will open at 5:00 with hot laps at 7:00.

On Saturday, May 28th, the enthusiasm will reach a record level as the Super Late Model Heats, Super Late Model Last Chance Races, and Show-Me 100 main event are held.
